"Jungkook, you need to integrate, not differentiate! They are completely opposite, how can you confuse them?" Taehee ran a frustrated hand through her hair and sighed. It was the fifth problem and Jungkook kept making the same mistake.
"Argh, I got distracted again. Relax, I'll do it over!" Jungkook grabbed the eraser from the table, wiped out almost an entire page of work and started again. Taehee watched him, chuckling at his intense concentration, wide-eyed with the tip of his tongue peeking out of his mouth. He's just a big baby.
As the boy redid the calculations, she checked her phone for the hundredth time, hoping for a notification. Finally, it came. She quickly opened the conversation and smiled as she read.
"Who's that? Your boyfriend?"
"You're getting distracted again. Focus, JK!" Taehee chuckled as Jungkook pouted and returned to his notebook. "It's my brother... he's arriving and just sent me a message."
"Taehyung hyung? Is he staying for the spring break?"
"No, he's moving back home. He's here to stay." Taehee stood up from the chair and walked to the window, pulling the curtain aside to look towards her house. She lived across the street from Jungkook and was currently helping him with some calculus exercises.
"Wow, that's great, right? I haven't seen him since he left, not even during holidays or school breaks."
"I know... he couldn't visit us these last four years. But mom and I visited him in Eumseong." Her phone beeped again and she quickly opened the conversation.
Tae:
I'm here! She looked out the window again and gasped. "Fuck, Taehyung! Are you fucking kidding me?" she muttered to herself, but Jungkook heard it, "What's wrong, Taehee?" She hurriedly gathered her things and playfully knocked Jungkook on the head, "My fucking brother must be a masochist, I have to go, we'll continue next time!" And with that, she ran out the door.
Jungkook was left confused and decided to peek out the window; outside, he saw Taehee giving a long, tight hug to a tall guy with blue hair. From her body language, it looked like she was scolding him while pointing at his hair, and the guy lifted her off the ground in another hug. Is that Taehyung? If it is, he's changed a lot!
He kept watching the siblings, Taehee seemed stressed and Taehyung was trying to calm her down. She didn't seem to like her brother's blue locks much. Taehee glanced at the window and caught Jungkook, "Hey, you! Stop spying and go finish your exercises!" Jungkook raised his hands in surrender and Taehyung also looked in his direction. Now Jungkook was sure it was Taehyung; he had the same smile as his sister. "Hey, neighbor! Long time no see!" Taehyung smiled and waved at him.
And, damn, why is his voice so deep? Jungkook was still struggling with his puberty voice, but Taehyung's sounded like an adult man's already, and he was only one year older. "Hey, hyung! Welcome back!" Jungkook shouted and waved, the blue-haired guy bowed and started being dragged inside home by his sister.
When they disappeared through the door, Jungkook returned to his study table and stared at the math problems, but his mind was already wandering. He, Taehee and Taehyung were inseparable four years ago; being neighbors, they had known each other since they were very young, ever since Jungkook moved to that street with his parents when he was only seven. The twin siblings were outgoing and quickly befriended the shy Jungkook, who, thanks to them, became more communicative and less introverted.
Taehyung protected him from bullies at school, helped him choose an extracurricular activity he liked by accompanying him to various trial classes, that's how he was introduced to his Jiu-jitsu.
