"He's not my boyfriend!"

"What do you mean, he's not? You two have been together for how long now?"

"Four, maybe five months, but seriously, we're not dating, people!" Yunseo laughed way too loud.

Jungkook leaned back in his chair, a bottle of beer half-empty in his hand. He stared into the rim, letting their banter blur into white noise. Experience told him that this level of drunkeness usually meant that someone was bound to push the wrong button. Tonight, it seemed it would be him on the receiving end.

"Well, to me, that sounds pretty damn serious. Longer than any of my so-called relationships," Mingyu added, throwing a glance in Jungkook's direction.

"You guys do realize I'm going overseas for college, right? There's a whole world of tall, blond hotties waiting for me. I can't be tied down!" Yunseo giggled and grabbed Jungkook's arm, making him spill some of his drink onto his leather jacket. "No offense, babe! Love our fun, but there's so much more out there for us."

"None taken," Jungkook muttered, jaw tightening as he dabbed the golden liquid off his jacket, a hint of irritation seeping through his forced smile. Damn, he couldn't let this best piece of clothing get ruined.

"Your loss, Yunseo!" Yugyeom slung an arm around Jungkook's shoulders, his breath reeking of soju. "This man right here is like something out of a goddamn romance novel written by women."

"Can we drop it already? Yunseo and I know where we stand. Move on to something else, please," Jungkook said, his tone sharper than intended.

"Yeah, let's talk about how Mingyu is the only lonely bastard at this table!" Jaehyun's voice rose above the din, finger pointed like an arrow aimed at the vulnerable.

Mingyu chuckled, lifting his drink in mock salute. "Cheers to self-imposed solitude, assholes."

"A man needs a hole, Mingyu," Jaehyun said, smirking while the girls at the table threw him looks of pure disgust. "What? It's true! And my man Mingyu here? He could pick any hole he wants. Girls, guys—you name it."

Mingyu's smile faltered, eyes widened as he looked at Jaehyun. "Dude, what the hell are you talking about?"

Jaehyun laughed, clapping the table hard enough to rattle glasses. "Chill, man! I'm just saying you've got everyone wrapped around your finger, even the dudes! Hey, did you guys know that that blue-haired fag from the tracks is all over him?"

Jungkook's eyes snapped up at that, his relaxed posture gone in an instant. His eyes slicing through Jaehyun, who was oblivious to the razor-sharp gaze aimed at him.

"Who? Taehyung?" Hana's eyes widened, disbelief written across her face. Jaehyun placed his hand on her thigh, squeezing as he nodded. "Yeah, him. Saw it with my own eyes."

"What? Taehyung's gay? Did you know that, Kook?" Yunseo turned, eyes wide as she searched his face for answers. Jungkook ignored her, every nerve in his body focused on Jaehyun's next words.

Hana scoffed, downing her glass in one gulp. "So that's why he brushed me off. Ugh, gross!"

"Yeah, babe. He'd rather have a tall, built guy to bend him over and wreck him, like Mingyu here. Sorry to disappoint," Jaehyun added with a laugh.

Jungkook felt the anger coiling in his gut like a living thing. Yugyeom's voice cut through the chaos. "Hey, cut it out. Taehyung's a good guy, and he's not here to defend himself. So maybe keep his name out of your mouths?" He said, with Mina, his girlfriend, nodding in agreement.

"If I were Mingyu, I'd totally take that chance. A mouth is a mouth, right? He could probably give the best head in the room," Jaehyun sneered, eyes glinting.
