The next day, Lisa got a call from her father. He told her to join the family dinner they were having as always. Lisa didn't have much choice, so she agreed.

Sana had been wary from the start. She had a bad feeling and, knowing her father’s temper, secretly called their friends. Jeongyeon, Jisoo, Dahyun, Tzuyu, and Jihyo sat discreetly at a nearby table, watching the unfolding scene, ready to jump in if things got out of hand.

As Lisa sat in the restaurant’s dim light, her stomach churned with a feeling of dread, but this dinner felt different. Her father had called out of the blue, and that was never a good sign. With her camera studio as a safe haven, she had been reluctant to leave. But now, here she was, sitting at the table, her body tense, waiting for the storm she knew was coming.

Her father, Mr. Manoban, put down his glass of wine, his voice cold and detached.

“We’ve made arrangements. You’ll be marrying our business partner's only child,”

He said, staring at Lisa with an intimidating gaze.

Lisa froze.

"What?"

She whispered, unable to process the words.

Her father’s expression remained stern.

“You heard me. The wedding is already being planned. This will be good for the family business.”

Lisa’s jaw clenched, the anger boiling inside her. She was used to their control, but this was too much.

"You don't have the right to interfere in my life like this,"

Lisa snapped, her hands trembling with a mix of fear and rage.

Her mother, Mrs. Manoban, sighed dramatically, rolling her eyes.

“You should be grateful, Lisa. Grateful that I even gave birth to you in the first place. You’ve been nothing but a burden.”

That statement cut deep, and Lisa’s face showed it. She clenched her fists under the table, her knuckles white.

“Grateful?”

She said, her voice shaking with emotion.

“You never treated me like a daughter. You never wanted me, and now you’re trying to force me into a marriage for your business deals. And you know I’m a lesbian! How can you even think about marrying me off to someone I don’t love?”

At the nearby table, Tzuyu leaned forward, her hands gripping the edge, ready to jump in.

“I swear if they say one more thing—”

She muttered, but Jihyo placed a firm hand on her shoulder, signalling her to stay calm.

They exchanged shocked glances. They knew her parents were controlling, but this? An arranged marriage? It was worse than they’d imagined.

Her mother scoffed.

“That’s not an issue. We arranged for you to marry the daughter of our business partner since she was also a lesbian.”

Tzuyu’s eyes widened, and she looked over at Jihyo, her fists clenched.

“This is insane,”

She whispered, her voice seething with anger.

Jisoo leaned over to Jeongyeon.

“Should we step in now? This is getting ugly.”

Jeongyeon shook her head, watching closely.
