Hyunjin lay sprawled on his bed, his phone resting lazily in his hand as he mindlessly scrolled through the same apps over and over again. His body shifted every few minutes, but nothing seemed to settle his restlessness. He groaned, flipping onto his back, staring at the ceiling as though it might somehow provide the entertainment he craved. At the foot of his bed, Kkami whined softly, his big eyes watching his owner with concern. Hyunjin sighed, reaching out to pat the dog's head.

The dull hum of the ceiling fan was the only sound in the room, the gentle breeze doing little to cool the creeping heat of boredom rising inside him. It was Sunday morning, but for some reason, after yesterday's excitement at the fair, today felt like a complete drag. His mom was out, probably enjoying her morning with shopping spree or yoga class, leaving Hyunjin alone in a house that suddenly felt far too big and quiet. Normally, in moments like this, he'd text Jisung and Felix to come over, and they'd spend hours playing video games, screaming at the screen until they were hoarse.

Hyunjin's fingers lazily swiped through the group chat, landing on Jisung's latest message. "I'm going to Icheon with my family today!!" He sighed dramatically, as if Jisung's family trip was a personal offense. Of course Jisung wasn't available, and he already knew Felix was at his Sunday dance class — the guy practically lived there on weekends. Hyunjin flipped onto his belly again, his cheek squishing against the soft pillow as he stared at the screen.

He was stuck. Alone. And bored.

Kkami shifted closer, his little paws resting on Hyunjin's leg. Hyunjin absentmindedly reached down to scratch his dog's ears, but even that felt like too much effort in his current state of lethargy. His mind wandered, considering his options, when an idea popped into his head. He perked up, eyes suddenly alert as he scrolled through the group chat again, his thumb hovering over a contact he hadn't thought of before: Seungmin.

He hesitated for a moment, glancing at Kkami as if seeking the dog's approval. Was it weird to call Seungmin? They hadn't properly hung out one-on-one before. But then again, they had been growing closer lately. Why not? Hyunjin took a breath and tapped the call button before he could second-guess himself. The dial tone rang in his ear, and for a split second, he thought about hanging up.

But then Seungmin's voice came through, cheerful and a little surprised. "Hello?"

"Seungmin!!" Hyunjin blurted out, louder than intended. He cringed at himself but quickly recovered. "I know it's kinda last minute and random, but I'm really bored. Do you wanna hang out?"

Seungmin laughed softly on the other end of the line. "Yeah, sure. I'm not busy. What do you want to do?"

Hyunjin smiled, his mood lifting almost instantly. "I'll send you my address. You can come over here!"

"Sounds good! I'll see you in, like, an hour?"

"Perfect! See you soon!" Hyunjin quickly hung up, unable to suppress the giddy grin spreading across his face. He flopped back on his bed, pulling Kkami into a hug. "Kkami, we're having company!" The dog wagged his tail, seemingly as excited as Hyunjin was, though the latter wasn't quite sure why he felt so happy.
