"Are all your windows locked?"

"Yes."

"Okay, did your family stock up on extra food?"

"Yep."

"What about flashlights? The power could go out—"

"Hyunjin."

Hyunjin sighed, flipping onto his back as he stared at the ceiling. The dim light from his phone illuminated his face, casting shadows across his features. He glanced back at Seungmin's pixelated face on the screen, frowning, the faint sounds of rain tapping against his window.

"What? Am I not allowed to make sure my boyfriend's safe?" His voice came out softer than he intended, betraying the worry gnawing at him.

Seungmin chuckled, his voice reverberating over the nearly silent room, a stark contrast to the rising storm outside. "I'll be fine, Jinnie. My parents are capable of preparing for a typhoon you know?"

Hyunjin smiled faintly, letting the tension ease from his shoulders as he stared at Seungmin's face, pixelated but still familiar, his comfort, his anchor. The glow of the screen was warm against the cool darkness of the room. "Okay. I'm just worried, promise me you'll stay safe?" His voice cracked slightly, the weight of his unease surfacing.

Seungmin rolled his eyes dramatically, but there was warmth in his gaze, even through the screen. "Me? Jinnie, I swear to God, if I see on the news tonight that 'Strike was saving civilians from typhoon,' I'm never gonna kiss you again," he laughed, but his expression softened, becoming more serious. "Seriously though, take a break today. You don't need to be constantly on duty. It's not a serious, life-threatening storm. Seoul can do without Strike for one day."

Hyunjin frowned. He knew Seungmin was right, but it didn't stop the uneasy feeling building in his gut. Still, he reluctantly nodded, "Okay..."

Seungmin narrowed his eyes, clearly not convinced. "I'm serious."

"I know! I promise I won't." Hyunjin smiled a little, trying to ease the tension, though part of him already felt the pull of responsibility. He wasn't sure if he could sit still, knowing people might need help.

Seungmin nodded, satisfied for the moment. A call echoed from his end of the call, and he shifted, sitting up a little straighter. "Okay, I've got to go, but please stay safe, I love you."

Hyunjin's heart warmed at the words. No matter how many times Seungmin said it, it always made his chest feel lighter, like all the storms inside him settled for a moment. "You stay safe too. I love you."

And with that, the call ended, leaving Hyunjin alone in his room once again, the quietness now filled only with the sound of the rising wind outside and the distant rumble of thunder. He let out a deep sigh, his phone falling onto his chest as he closed his eyes, trying to push away the growing anxiety.
