Lingling, was lost in her thoughts. She jolted back to reality by a sudden knock at her bedroom's door. The unexpected noise snaps her out of her reverie. She glanced towards the door. Who could it be? She has already informed her bodyguard to not disturb them.

Lingling got up from the bed and walked over to the door, her movements quieter than usual, as she didn't want to wake Orm up. Opening the door, she found her father's right-hand man, an older man named Kai, standing outside.

Kai's expression was grim, which immediately put Lingling on edge.

"Kai, what is it? Is everything alright?" Lingling asked, her voice slightly hushed.

Kai glanced around, making sure they were alone in the hallway, before speaking.

"What's going on? What news are you bringing from father?" Lingling asked, her mind immediately jumping to the worst-case scenario.

Kai cast a quick glance towards the bedroom door, his eyes narrowing slightly. But he pushed the thought aside and focused on Lingling.

"Your father has been informed about the...incident...at the bar." His words were measured, carefully chosen.

Lingling's face blanched slightly at the mention of the bar incident. She was aware of the security cameras that had caught Orm and her together leaving the bar, but she didn't think her father would find out so quickly.

Lingling's hands instinctively formed into tight fists. The thought of her father knowing about her encounter with Orm was not a pleasant one.

"And what exactly did he have to say about it?" She managed to keep her voice steady, despite the slight tremor inside her.

"He is not happy" Kai stated bluntly, his gaze steady on Lingling.

Lingling could feel her heart sink at the words. She had always known her father would react badly to any involvement with people outside of their social circle.

"I expected as much..." Lingling muttered, her voice laced with resignation.

"But there's more," Kai interrupted, his tone grave.

Lingling's heart skipped a beat at the words. What could possibly be worse than her father's reaction?

"What do you mean, MORE?" She questioned urgently, her eyes fixed on the man's face, trying to read his expression.

Kai leaned in closer, his voice lowering to a whisper.

"There's a secret meeting being held tonight at our main headquarters. Your father has called an emergency gathering for the higher-ups in the mafia..." He paused for a moment, his eyes searching Lingling's face.

"And he expects you to be there as well, as his representative."

Lingling took a moment to process what she had just been told.

"When is this meeting?" She asked, her voice betraying her growing anxiety.

Kai responded, "Tomorrow at midnight."

Lingling felt a strange mix of emotions. On one hand, attending a meeting of such importance was a testament to her growing role within her father's organization. On the other hand, the secrecy and gravity of it all made her uneasy.

"Is that all?" She asked, her tone cool.

Kai gave a slight nod, his face hardening again. "That's all I have for now. I would suggest preparing yourself for tomorrow, Ms. Kwong."

With that, He turned and quietly left the mansion, leaving Lingling alone with her thoughts, leaning against the wall , her mind swirling with questions and trepidations.
