Mr. Kornnaphat stood tall in the opulent entryway of the Kwong mansion, his initial surprise quickly morphing into a frown as he faced off with Hongxi Kwong. He took a step forward, his voice sharp and demanding.
"Where is Orm? I was expecting to find her here," he began, anger lacing his tone.
Mr Kwong, standing his ground, raised an eyebrow at the other man's assertive demeanor. His voice was cool and unwavering as he spoke.
"And why would you assume she would be here?"
Mr. Kornnaphat's irritation flared at his enemy's nonchalance. But he knew he couldn't let his emotions get the best of him. He had to remain composed and in control.
With a firm voice, he reiterated, "I need to speak to her. Urgently. Where is she?"
Hongxi Kwong fixed Mr. Kornnaphat with a cold, challenging gaze. He unfolded his arms and took a step closer, his voice taking on a tone of mockery.
"Let me get this straight. You burst into my home unannounced and demand to see your daughter, who, mind you, has no logical reason to be here," he started, his voice laced with a hint of sarcasm. "Quite the interesting strategy you've adopted, haven't you?"
Mr. Kornnaphat bristled visibly at Hongxi Kwong's words and tone. He knew he had made a risky and unwise decision by coming here unannounced, but his worry for his daughter had taken precedence over his better judgment.
He took a deep breath, a visible attempt to compose himself before answering, his voice heavy with suppressed annoyance.
"I assure you," he ground out, his tone laced with irritation, "I wouldn't be here if it wasn't important."
His eyes met the other man's, pleading for understanding. "My daughter has been missing. Her phone goes straight to voicemail, and her apartment is empty. This place, unfortunately, was the only logical place left to turn to," he said, his words tinged with a hint of defensiveness.
Hongxi Kwong chuckled mirthlessly, his eyes narrowing in mockery as he spoke.
"Ah, right. You expect me to believe that you genuinely thought your daughter could be here in my daughter's private space? I'm not a fool, Mr. Kornnaphat. I'm well aware of your daughter's espionage and the trouble you've caused in my casino in Chongqing," he said, his voice laced with a hint of disdain.
Niran Kornnaphat's eyes widened in shock at Hongxi's words. Caught off guard. He was torn between defensiveness and a sense of shame. It was clear that his scheme had been discovered, and he was now scrambling to find a way to salvage the situation.
"I... I'm not sure what you're talking about," he said, his words a mix of feigned ignorance and embarrassment. "I assure you, there was no ulterior motive behind my visit. I'm merely here because I'm worried about Orm."
Hongxi calmly observed Mr. Kornnaphat's agitation, his nonchalant demeanor not faltering for a moment. "Don't worry, Orm is safe," he responded coolly. "She's in good hands."
Mr. Kornnaphat's anger and suspicion intensified, as the other man's cryptic answers fueled his frustration.
"What do you mean 'she's in good hands'? I ask you again, where is my daughter?!" he demanded, his voice now laced with thinly veiled menace.
Mr Kwong's lips curled into a lazy smirk, and he took a slow, deliberate step closer to his enemy, "Calm down, losing your temper won't get you anywhere."
Niran's anger had boiled over to the point of eruption. His frustration and worry for Orm fueling his actions. In a swift, reckless move, he pulled out his gun and pointed it directly at Hongxi Kwong. His finger trembled on the trigger, the weapon mere millimeters away from the other man's head.
