On the night of October 23rd, her life shatters.
A seven-year-old girl wakes in silence, her body broken and her spirit trembling.
With nothing but pain and moon to guide her, she escapes into the darkness, bleeding, barefoot, and alone.
Under a pal...
Her aunt greeted her with a kind face and a hint of worry in her voice, but it's all fake. She always acts like this when her uncle is around; otherwise, she makes her do all the chores of the house, and at a slight mistake, she scolds her. Life is so bad here for her.
"You're late, dear. Is everything okay?" She had a sweet look on her face but a very scary shine in her eyeballs.
"My exams are coming up, so I'm studying late at school to prepare," Emma finally spoke.
Her aunt, now seeming unconcerned, asked her to join her for lunch.
During lunch and after finishing washing the dishes, she returned to her room and closed the door with a concerned face, as she was still thinking about something this whole time. She pulled her smartphone from her pocket and dialed a number. Her room was very small: it had a single bed in it with an old bedsheet, a study table with a lamp on it, a clothes cupboard where her only uniform and a couple of clothes were present, a small mirror attached to the wall, a white-painted wall, a bookshelf, and a window. But still, everything was well organized. She was in 6th grade.

She dialed the number and waited anxiously for 20 seconds until the next person answered. His voice was low and barely above a whisper.
"Oh, hello, kid," the other person on the phone said after picking up the call, sounding like he was in a lot of pain and discomfort.
She asked impatiently, "What's going on? Are you okay?" This was the only person left she cared about and thought of as her only family.
Her voice trembled with worry. She was biting her nails. Her eyes seemed worried because that person was very valuable to her.
He lay there, his clothes and skin drenched with blood. It seemed like that person had gotten into a big fight and been beaten to death, but he didn't care because it was his way of life to live.
A doctor worked to stabilize him, methodically cleaning his wounds, applying antiseptic, and stitching the wounds, then securing bandages to stem the bleeding.

And he replied, "I'm okay, kid." He only had a soft corner for children, but Emma was the one he was really very fond of, and he didn't want to worry her.
"What are you doing? How's your preparation going? I'll come to see you tomorrow." He rolled out her question.
She was thrilled to hear that he was coming tomorrow and said, "Thank you, Dad," before ending the call. He wasn't her dad, but he meant a place in her heart.
On the other end, he simply smiled and said, "I'm not your dad, kid." The phone had already hung up a minute ago, and then he got up to handle some work. The doctor tried to stop him, but he was the person who listened to no one. He had gone through so much, and now this much pain didn't affect him it just added some more scars on his body, and he loved them.
The next morning

He came to visit Emma as he had promised, and then he saw a female teacher glaring at him for a while. She had a crush on him for ages, and she finally decided to ask him for a date. They both moved from their places because the school bell rang.
When he reached Emma's classroom, that teacher was in the middle of a music lesson with Emma's teacher.

Emma was busy practicing for her music exam, but when Fedrick walked in, she saw him, though Emma still didn't. And then she walked to him, saying, "Can I grab you for a minute, Mr. Fedrick? I need to talk to you about something." Her eyes sparked, and her red lips smiled.
