He pauses for a second to figure out what to say, then speaks. "My father works there, and it's located near my house. I live nearby too. This is my house," he says, pointing toward it. "I can take you there; don't worry."

She listens, unsure whether she should trust this strange boy or not. But there's something about his kind eyes that puts her at ease. She nods, and he takes her hand, leading her through the winding streets.

He's a child too, so she can't resist asking him about some things.
"Aren't you afraid of being hurt by bad people? Aren't your parents worried about you?"

He smiles. "No, I'm used to exploring places on my own, and I love doing that. My parents teach me how to handle situations and solve problems when I'm in danger. And my dad is amazing."

As they walk, he chatters excitedly about his home and family, but she remains silent, her mind consumed by her own thoughts. She just wants to go home as soon as possible to find solace in the familiar.

Finally, they arrive at the police station.

He points to the large gate. "Here you go, big sister," he says with a smile. She has never heard something that sounds so kind and respectful until now.

She takes a deep breath, steeling herself for what comes next.

"Aren't you going home now?" she asks.

"No, I'll ask my father to find your home as soon as possible since you're lost. Then I'll go home."

The boy watches as she steps inside, his eyes shining with a mix of concern and happiness.

The guard at the gate stops her, but he knows the child. He's the head officer's son.
"She's with me, Sir William. Please let her meet my dad; she's lost."

The guard guides them to the office room. When they reach it, they knock for permission to enter.

"Come in, William," a voice calls from inside.

The three of them enter. The officer sees his son and says, "Another adventure, little man?" Then he notices the injured girl beside him and asks who she is. William stays at the door, and now only three people are in the room.

The kid explains the whole situation to his father, who feels proud that his son came this far to help someone. He pats his head and stands, smiling.
"I'll assign my best officers to help her reach home safely. Don't worry, my little soldier; I'll handle the rest."

Moments later, she emerges with a police officer. The boy is still waiting patiently outside; he wants to say goodbye.

His eyes light up with a warm smile as he waves, his small hands clasped together in a gesture of farewell.
"We'll meet again," he calls out, his voice carrying on the wind. "I'll wait for you to come see me someday."

She turns, her heart swelling with gratitude, and smiles back at him. "Sure," she says. And in that moment, something shifts inside her. She feels a glimmer of hope, a sense that maybe, just maybe, everything will be okay
