Trigger Warning: Mentions of Abuse
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cold was all he felt. Not a physical cold where the weather was biting at his skin. No It was more of a numb type cold he felt inside. One that reflected on his outside. He couldn't find himself to talk back to Rody. Just nodding, or shaking his head. Though the emptiness was filled with one thing. Shame. Boiling shame that swallowed him whole. Manon was right. He had cheated on her. She was right. He deserves to have been beaten like that. He should've just slept in his vomit and blood. He was fighting back tears. He knew it was wrong to have been beaten like that, but maybe he needed to be reminded by her what not to do. The car parked in front of the bistro. Vincent's legs were incredibly shaky so Rody picked him up. Carrying Vincent inside all while he felt incredibly disgusted by it. Once again being carried in a romantic way even while he was in a relationship. Rody Shut the door behind him with his foot. Laying Vincent down on the couch.
"I'm going to get your stuff real quick, I will be right back." Vincent nodded before Rody left. It was then the tears began to flow, and Vincent couldn't help but sob. Coving his face with his hands. His stomach began to churn once again. Vincent didn't want to be anymore of a hassle as he rushed over to the bathroom. Dry heaving into the toilet. Leaving spit to slip out of his mouth. Eventually he got his gut under control just as Rody walked in.
"You okay?" He asked as he walked closer. Looking over into the toilet.
"Do you need any sort of anti-nausea medication?" Vincent shook his head as Rody sat down next to him on the cold bathroom floor.
"Vincent, are you sure you are okay?"
"YES I'm sure." Vincent snapped causing Rody to appear stunned. Vincent immediately wished he had just kept his mouth shut. Vincent backed against the wall. Trying to move away from Rody.
"Woah hey, I'm not going to hurt you. I'm sorry I shouldn't have pushed." Vincent began to relax a bit.
"Sorry."
"No, don't apologize you were just beaten." Rody said as he reached his hand out to cup his face. Vincent slapped it away.
"Don't." Vincent's voice was a warning.
"It's because of what we did. Manon, I don't if she just assumed something happened, or if she actually knew, but we kissed. I cheated on her. I hurt her. We shouldn't have kissed. Nor go as far as we did. I don't deserve to be treated well." Tears once again falling down his face.
"Don't say that." Vincent looked up at Rody. His voice had been harsh and his expression reflected it. The light in his eyes was gone, and his expression was angry.
"You brought up while you were drunk that Manon beats you at other times. You're right you were wrong to cheat on her, and were wrong to make out with me, but that doesn't mean she needs to beat you to the point of weakness." Rody said as Vincent relaxed a bit.
"Things aren't always black and white. Yes, your cheating was wrong, but from what I heard you were still a rather good boyfriend." Vincent nodded.
"I mean I like to think I am. I always want to make her happy." Rody nodded and gave him a small smile.
"And that's what a good partner wants. So when does she decide to hit you?" Vincent sighed.
"When I didn't do good enough. If a date felt too cheap. Or I didn't give her enough money. Hell I wanted to please her in bed but not like I could perform well." Vincent said while looking away. A small blush coming across his face. He was a little too tired to care.
"Okay. Vincent I don't know how to break it to you but she is a gold digger." Vincent's head snapped right back at Rody.
"WHAT?! No she isn't! I've only had jobs as a waiter!" Vincent exclaimed as Rody looked unamused. Raising a brow.
"You forget who looked at your resume. You've had lots of jobs at high end restaurants. They pay much better than the average waiter. Not to mention the tips." Vincent knew he had a point. Manon hadn't known about his job until about a week into their relationship.
"I know making a loved one happy and comfortable, but there has to come a point when you realize things aren't going to work out. Let alone if things are healthy. You both did something bad, and we could honestly argue in circles about morality and which one is worse, but let's face it neither of you are going to end up happy in the end." Vincent sighed. He knew he had a point. He had been questioning doing it for a while, but had pushed against it.
"I don't know if I want to end it. She would fix me. She's the only girl I've dated and remained in a relationship with." Vincent said as Rody raised a brow.
"You don't actually like women do you?" Vincent didn't know how to speak at first. He wanted to keep it a secret, but then again if Rody was willing to make out with him things would probably end better.
"Yes." Vincent sighed, as he looked down at the floor. Rody shrugged,
"Hey no need to be embarrassed about it. I like men too." Vincent looked up at him confused. His confusion was short-lived as he recalled Rody was more than willing to sleep with him.
"Now I'm not going to make you break up with her, but I'd advise doing that. Now I'm going to leave you here to clean up the rest of your wounds. I'll also go ahead and make us dinner. I know you don't like to eat, but it probably wouldn't hurt to eat after the hell you had gone through earlier."
Vincent nodded as Rody stood up. Pulling a first aid kit out before leaving the room. Vincent had a bit of hope, yet he still felt upset at himself. Though Rody had a point. Him and Manon weren't healthy for each other. Manon deserved a better boyfriend, and she deserved better. Vincent sighed as he ran his hand through his hair. He feared for his safety, but he knew it had to be done.
