When Vincent woke up that morning he was disappointed. He was cuddled against Rody's chest. Wrapped in his arms who was also waking up due to his alarm. Everything would be perfect if he just shut off the alarm and the two went back to sleep. But they had work today. Both got out of bed. Slipping on their uniforms. Compared to the past week Vincent felt rather refreshed. That day off was definitely what he needed. Though his nerves were once again returning. The thought of Manon once again approaching while at work was terrifying. Some of his stress was brought up again. Yet yesterday went without incident, so maybe today would as well. It seemed to be that way as while they were opening up he did not spot Manon. And throughout the rest of his workday it remained that way. That was until two police officers walked in. At first Vincent thought nothing of it. Maybe they had just gotten off duty and wanted some food. Karen had walked over to get them, yet instead of sitting them down she walked into the back. This confused and concerned Vincent.
"Oh that's not a good sign." Margret, an elderly regular, said as she looked over.
"The police that are here?" Vincent asked, pointing with his pen. Margret nodded.
"Especially when they get the owner." Vincent looked back to see Rody looking out. He seemed equally as confused, but showed a usual happy smile. Vincent would ask questions later. For now he had to focus on his work. He had lots of customers to take care of.
"Hello officers, how may I help you?" Rody asked, looking at the two officers. One a tall blonde man that looked to be in his fifties. While the other was a short, almost teenage looking officer. He probably was new.
"Hello sir. I am officer Douglas, and this is my partner officer Jonas. We are investigating a missing person's case, and we would like to ask a few questions." Rody raised a brow. He was confused as to what they were talking about. Nobody was missing from work. That was until he recalled one person who was tied to the restaurant.
"Would you like to have the discussion in my office? I would prefer to not disturb my customers." Rody said. The police officer nodded.
"Sure." The younger one said as Rody led them to the back. Bringing them into the office. He knew he had to play his card right. Especially considering some sort of evidence could be in the freezer right next to them if they looked properly. He let the officers shut the door behind him. He wanted them to feel as comfortable, and in control.
"May I ask what this is about? None of my employees are missing, and I barely know more than a few regulars, and it's no alarm if none of them show up on a day." Rody asked as he leaned against his desk.
"This isn't about a customer. The woman missing is Marianne Vacher, and recently you had about two incidents you were involved with, alongside another employee of yours, Vincent Charboneau." Rody's eyes widened.
"Manon's missing! Oh my god." Rody pretended to be startled. Beginning his hand to his mouth.
"I know she's done some really shitty stuff, but I hope she is okay." Rody said as he looked at the officers. The two very clearly bought his charade.
"What do you need to know?"
"When did you last see Miss.Vacher." Rody let out a sigh.
"I know you're probably expecting me to say when I threaten to get a restraining order on her, but truth be told, about three days ago." The officer seemed surprised.
"Our records haven't shown any other problems with her." The younger man said as he looked at his partner.
"You would be correct. That's because all she was doing was stalking us. She was at a distance. Doing nothing but looking at us. We didn't feel that was enough to warrant a call." The police officers looked at each other confused.
