Chapter 2

The fun never stopped, even when someone got grumpy.

Franklin, Caiden, Connagh, and Harri didn't let Devin know about their sudden trip to the city. If Devin couldn't handle his temper in the meantime, it was time for the boys to find something else to do. Iyon ang nasa isip ni Franklin, they were out here to have fun, but Devin seemed to be the one making it hard for them to enjoy.

"We just arrived. Maybe he was tired," paliwanag pa ni Connagh. "We wouldn't be able to come here if it wasn't for him though."

"Yeah, Con. Say what you want to say. I know Devin. If he sees something he doesn't like, it would be his mood for the rest of the day. I wish he would grow up," dagdag pa ni Franklin.

"Maybe that girl reminded him of something," conclusion pa ni Harri. "Something must triggered him. He wasn't like that earlier. He was about to give us the whole world. We have to give him some space for now."

"Or maybe look for another girl for him," suggestion naman ni Caiden. Salubong ang kilay ng tatlo nang tingnan siya. "What?! I was just trying to add something to the conversation and thought it would be a good thing. Though it wasn't the first time Devin rejected a girl."

"A lot of them," tawa pa ni Franklin. "Who could be the lucky girl who will make his heart of stone into a fluffy one?"

Walang naisagot ang tatlo dahil hindi rin naman nila sigurado ang future. They knew Devin was unpredictable so they have to get along with him sometimes. But most of the time, kapag hindi rin nila gusto ang ugali nito ay sila mismo ang umaalis. 

"This isn't my first rodeo in Florida, but I wasn't familiar with Tampa. I went to Miami that last time and oh, boy. All the girls there were sexy and feisty. I think I was able to take home a different woman every night."

"We've never all been here in Tampa," Connagh said. "So, let's just go walk around and find something interesting."

"That's boring, Con," Harri retorted. "But let's do it as if we have another choice."

When the boys discovered a nearby station for the TECO street car system, they didn't waste a single moment and jumped on it. Tuwang-tuwa naman ang magkakaibigan hangga't sa mapansin nila na ang ibang pasahero sa loob ng streetcar at mabilis silang bumaba sa susunod na istasyon. The boys were having a good time as if they own every places in Tampa.

"Oh, look at that bay," komento ni Harri.

Nakatutok ang apat sa Tampa Bay Beach at halos puno iyon ng mga lokal at turista nang matanaw nila. Nagkatinginan silang apat at sa palitan pa lamang ng mga tingin nila ay alam na kung anong mga binabalak. Walang pagdadalawang isip at tumungo ang apat sa beach side at napapanganga na lamang sa tuwa kapag makikita ang mga babaeng naka-bikini at umaalog ang dibdib.

"This is the best day for me." Hagikgik pa ni Franklin. "Do you think I would get to take home one girl tonight?"

"I dare you," Harri told him.

Napangisi naman si Franklin. "Don't dare me, Har, because I will definitely do it."

"Then so be it!" Caiden added. "Take one of those girls home. Just make sure Devin won't find out about it. Con, please shut your mouth for the night, alright?"

"What?!" Connagh argued.

Tumuloy sa paglalakad ang apat. Hinubad pa nila ang mga suot na sapatos nang makatapak sa buhanginan. Nakaagaw rin naman sila ng atensyon mula sa ibang tao sa paligid dahil sila lamang ang halos pormal ang suot na damit. Hindi naman sumagi iyon sa isipan nila.
