Last night was fun. Connagh had so much fun even without drinking alcohol.
He could've drunk but chose not to. Life in Vegas and Tampa was far different from what he had grown up in London. Being the youngest from their group of friends, he knew he would have to excuse himself most of the time, but he was already above the legal age—he could do whatever fucking he wanted.
Maaga siyang nagising kaysa sa mga kaibigan nito. He knew the boys would wake up late after what happened last night, especially for what happened to Caiden. They were shocked about what happened. They thought what happened to Harri could top that moment. They were laughing at him but somehow concerned that he might be dead.
Tumungo naman ito sa backyard at doon nagpalipas ng oras. He noticed the morning was seemingly quiet and more peaceful than the past few days. May isang house maid pa ang lumapit kay Connagh para alukin ito nang maiinom niya. He only asked for a cup of tea as usual. He was having the time of his life in Florida and thought it would be as bad as he imagined it would be, but here he is now, looking forward to a lot of things.
He rested his head on the sun lounger and closed his eyes as he imagined what he did last night. It was wild as he didn't think his night could go the right way. Gano'n din naman sina Franklin at Harri. From the past few days that they've been dealing with misfortunes ay naranasan na nila ang mga magagandang pangyayari except Caiden who fell into a trap last night.
Later on, the housemaid went back serving his cup of tea. Wala naman siyang ideya kung anong gagawin nila ngayong araw, but Connagh was hoping for it to be nothing. Gusto niya lang magpahinga at matulog. They've been on the roll for the past few nights, so he believed na deserve nila ng one day rest before they could go back in the spotlight.
The cup of tea made him sleepy once again. He would've probably drunk more than five cups of tea and he won't feel sick about it. Sanay na sanay na siyang uminom no'n. Simula pa no'ng bata siya, tea was a staple drink back at home. Kung pipili man si Connagh between alcohol and tea, he would rather pick tea. Hindi siya malalasing kung ilang tasa pa ang inumin nito.
"You're early, Con." Napamulat naman ng mata si Connagh nang marinig ang boses ni Devin. Sinamahan naman siya ng kaibigan at umupo sa katabing sun lounger. "I guess, you still have the London body clock."
Napangisi naman si Connagh sa komento ng kaibigan. "Well, you can say that. I also have plans of coming back there a week after we go back to Vegas."
"What kind of plans?" Devin wondered.
"Some things I had to attend to for my father's business," sagot ni Connagh. "It's boring. You know what I mean."
Devin chuckled, nodding his head. "Yeah, I get what you mean. I just remembered now, how are you with the girl you were talking about before? I'm not sure what her name is, but I know you mentioned something about her before."
"Was it Rebeecca?" Connah queried.
Devin quickly nodded as he confirmed it. "Yes, yes. That's her. Are you dating her now?"
Connagh scoffed, shaking his head. "No, we're just good friends. I don't think we'll ever reach that point. We're just good friends. I think she's also seeing someone else back in London right now so you know where that would be heading. We've talked before, I don't think I was her type."
"But she's your type," panunudyo pa ni Devin. "I know you mentioned before that if you've ever got the chance to be with someone like her, you wouldn't take advantage of it, but make the most out of it. Don't tell me you didn't say that."
Napangisi naman si Connagh. "Yeah, I did. . . Okay, so you caught me now. What else can I hide?" Itinaas pa nito ang dalawang kamay na para bang sumuko na sa kapulisan.
"Why won't you pursue her? It would be your loss if you didn't do that."
Napakibit balikat naman si Connagh. "I don't know. . . I guess, I can only give what she was giving to me. If Rebecca couldn't give the same feelings the same way I have for her then I'm only wasting so much of my time here. I can't do that."
Devin smirked. "Yeah, that's true. Anyway, you're in Tampa, right now. You can do whatever you want. . . And I heard, you really had good fun last night."
Connagh chuckled. "Well, I tried it to be, but yeah, it was fun. Where have you been last night? Me and the boys couldn't see you."
"I was just around," simple pang sagot ni Devin.
Saglit lang ay biglang dumating sina Harri at Franklin at malalaki ang ngiti sa labi, pero mas napansin nila ang mukha ni Caiden na punong-puno ng pagtataka. Tumapon ang atensyon ng apat sa kanya at inihayag naman nito ang nangyari sa kanya kagabi. Hindi pa niya sigurado kung totoo ba 'yong nangyari kagabi o nananaginip lang siya dahil ibang klase ang ibinigay na saya ni Stefany sa kanya.
"Don't look for Stefany," sabi pa ni Devin.
"Huh? What do you mean?" Caiden wondered, creasing shi forehead.
"Well, last night was wild for you. I told you to look for Stefany and you did. We don't know where you are, but Stefany showed up in front of me. She was with a guy that she introduced to me as her boyfriend. Before telling me where you were, she resigned from her job. Later on, we found you in the private room naked. Me and the boys had to put clothes on you and carry you out of the club. You were unconscious. You didn't think she was in a relationship?"
Hindi na nakapagsalita si Caiden. "Nah, fuck. I'm out for now."
Umalis si Caiden sa backyard habang naiwan naman ang apat. Hindi rin sila makapaniwala na umabot doon ang sitwasyon ni Caiden. Then Connagh listed that Franklin, Harri, and Caiden experienced misfortunes in Tampa, but since what happened last night was a good start for him, he believed it won't end like what they went through.
Connagh persisted, and somehow, he was looking forward for more.
