Real Life!
His shock came to no surprise as Dream arrived home. It was exactly as the letter had predicted.
Dream opened the door with a grin that could only be described as mischievous, his eyes twinkling with the kind of excitement that only comes with orchestrating a long-awaited reunion. "Hey, Nick," he said, stepping into the room. "I've got news. Taylor's here, safe and sound."
Nick's heart skipped a beat, his breath catching in his throat. The weight of Dream's words took a moment to settle, and he blinked, trying to process the reality of the situation. "She's here? Really?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
Dream chuckled softly, the sound echoing with a mix of relief and amusement. "Yep. She arrived a few hours ago. I didn't want to disturb you until she was settled. She's at the hotel, and..." He paused, letting the anticipation build before continuing, "she's fast asleep in her room."
Nick's mind raced. The image of Taylor, finally in the same city, resting so close to him, was both exhilarating and daunting. He had imagined this moment so many times, but the reality was both more exhilarating and more intimidating than he could have ever anticipated.
The thought of Taylor sleeping in a hotel room, just a stone's throw away from him, filled him with an overwhelming mix of emotions. It was a blend of joy, relief, and a pinch of anxiety. He had envisioned their meeting countless times, but the idea of seeing her for the first time in years, of actually being in her presence, was almost too much to bear.
"I... I don't even know what to say," Nick admitted, running a hand through his hair. "I've been waiting for this moment, but now that it's here, I'm not sure how to handle it."
Dream clapped him on the shoulder with a reassuring grin. "Well, you've got a little time to gather yourself. She's sleeping off the trip, so you can relax and get ready. Just make sure you're prepared for when she wakes up. It's going to be a big moment."
Nick nodded, trying to steady his breathing. The enormity of the situation began to sink in. He had spent so long awaiting letters, exchanging words and ques from a distance, and now he was just moments away from seeing Taylor face-to-face. The anticipation was eating him alive as he wallowed in the what ifs.
"Thanks, Dream," Nick said, his voice tinged with gratitude. "I really appreciate everything you've done."
"No problem," Dream replied, giving Nick a thumbs-up. "Just make sure you're ready. This is your chance to make things right, to see where things can go from here. Good luck."
As Dream left the room, Nick stood there for a moment, letting the reality of the situation wash over him. Taylor was here, in the same city, and soon, they would finally meet. The thought was both thrilling and nerve-wracking, but one thing was certain: this was the beginning of a new chapter, and he was ready to face it with everything he had.
He had the chance to get the girl back, his girl, and he wouldn't fuck it up, he couldn't fuck it up.
