07- the date that went wrong

ANASTASIA and Sam decided to have a date night, as they Got their things together and left the house heading to Dinner, they wanted to spend time alone, but little did they know their night was about to Go Badly, as they entered the restaurant Sam walked up to the counter "Can we get A water and A Pepsi please." Sam asked as the lady smiled and nodded "I'll get that for you in just a moment." The waitress said as Anastasia and Sam stepped off to the side, As they moved over a guy walked in, dressed in all black, carrying a duffle bag, and wearing a mask over his face, Anastasia didn't think he meant well but she tried to push away the feeling as they waited for their drinks, Sam and Anastasia talked about their plans for the future "I plan on marrying you, soon hopefully." Sam said as he looked down at Anastasia, they'd been together about 5 years now, Time had passed and Anastasia and Sam knew They wanted to get married.

As Anastasia and Sam kept discussing the guy approached The counter "give me the money." The guy whispered "what was that? Sorry I couldn't hear you." The waitress said politely as the guy pulled out his gun "I said Give me the money!" The guy said hostile as he looked around pointing his gun at everyone, when he turned towards Anastasia and Sam he accidentally shot the gun, As the bullet was aimed at Anastasia Sam Quickly jumped in front of her "I'm sorry." Sam said as the Bullet hit him in the back "I can't let you die, I love you." Sam said as he looked at Anastasia, Her eyes welling with tears "Sam.. Sam no!" Anastasia said.

As Sam began to fall to the floor Anastasia gripped onto him as the tears flooded her eyes "SAM!" Anastasia yelled as she fell to the ground beside him sobbing, Anastasia pulled out her phone, her hands covered in Sam's blood she didn't know who to call the waitress was calling 9-1-1 so Anastasia called the one person she felt like she needed to call, her brother Colby, as the phone rang Anastasia was crying more holding pressure on Sam's wound "hey no please hold on, please stay with me." Anastasia cried out as Colby finally answered "Hello?" Colby said through the phone, he wasn't sure why his sister was calling him considering she was on a date with Sam, but Colby could hear Anastasia sobbing through the phone "Ana? What's wrong what happened?" Colby asked "it's Sam.. he's been shot." Anastasia said crying as she shook Sam to try to keep him awake.

Colby rushed to the restaurant as the ambulances arrived "Hey he's in here." Colby yelled as he ran inside followed by the EMTs, Colby rushed to Sam and Anastasia's side "Sam hey Man, hold on please don't leave me, your my best friend, and don't leave Anastasia she needs you." Colby said with tears in his eyes as the EMTs took Sam on the stretcher rushing him to the hospital, Colby hugged his sister as they left and got in the car following the ambulance "how did this happen?" Colby asked "I don't know... some guy just came in and randomly shot at us, Sam took the bullet for me, it's my fault if he dies." Anastasia said sobbing "that's not true Anastasia, he's not going to die but it wouldn't be because of you." Colby said.

Once they arrived to the Hospital Anastasia didn't even let Colby fully get his car into park before she jumped out of the car rushing into the hospital "ANASTASIA WAIT." Colby yelled we he chased after his sister, he knew she was worried about Sam but he didn't want her hurt, once they were inside of the hospital Colby and Anastasia stood at the front desk waiting for a worker "is he going to be ok?" Anastasia asked "Sam's strong Ana, he'll be fine I promise." Colby said, Anastasia nodded as a worker finally approached them at the desk "can I help you?" The lady asked "Sam Golbach, What's his status?" Colby asked, The lady searched Sam up "oh he's already out of surgery and in a room to recover, he lost some blood but he was stable when he got here, he's okay and can see visitors would you
Guys like to see him?" The lady asked.

"Please, he's my Husband."Anastasia lied she didn't want the lady to question them, Even though she wasn't fully lying, her and Sam were dating "I'll show you to his room." The lady said as she lead them to the room, the lady let them go in and then she left, giving them some privacy, Anastasia walked over to Sam's bed "Sam." Anastasia said as the tears filled her eyes again "are you okay?" Anastasia asked, Sam smiled as he opened his arms signaling for her to lay with him, as Anastasia laid down on the bed with him "I'm fine baby, I took the bullet for you, and I'd do it again, I would die for you, that's the point, I want you to feel safe, I want to make you feel safe." Sam said as he held her in his arms, kissing her forehead.

Anastasia smiled through the tears as she laid her head on Sam's chest crying "I do feel safe with you, I just don't want to lose you, I don't want you to die because of me." Anastasia said sobbing as Sam held her close "Stas baby you're not gonna loose me, I won't let that happen."Sam said as he kissed her forehead again "Man when Anastasia called me I just knew the worst of the worst had happened, I'm just glad your okay." Colby said "when can you come home?" Colby asked "in a few hours, They said they just want to keep an eye on me for a couple more hours." Sam said.

Anastasia laid in Sam's arms and dozed off, they had already been at the hospital for about five hours now so it was time for Sam to go home "Ana." Colby said as he lightly shook her awake "come on they're sending home let's go."  He said as Anastasia sat up And helped Sam pack his rings up, They left the hospital and headed back home, once they were home Anastasia and Sam went straight to their room, they both were exhausted and Still reeling from the events of the day.
