The raindrops patted against the roof, making a soothing, rhythm song that was music to your little ears. You sat on the bed, head perked up, facing the window in the darkness. It was late at night, but Aizawa hadn't been back yet.
You decided to wait for him patiently this time.
Patiently, without fussing around and causing any trouble.
Small hands clenching and unclenching at the bedsheets in a slow manner, you watched each raindrop make their way down to the end of the windowsill. It was a race, a small race that lasted seconds, but your eyes never found it boring to stare at them for long periods of time.
The silence was not heavy, nor was it awkward. It was peaceful.
So you waited even longer.

Aizawa let out a sigh of relief and exhaustion, finally finishing his patrol, and deciding to head home to check on his kid. Hopefully, you didn't do anything bad this time.
He opened the window to his apartment, and casually slipped in, as if it was just a normal day. His wet boots tapped against the floor, and he mentally reminded himself to make sure he'll wipe those patches of water later.
But first... you.
The guy took in a breath, before stepping into his bedroom, expecting to see some messy nest on his bed with the pillows scattered, or maybe the covers that would be on the ground. But he only saw someone sitting against the headboard of the bed, head nodding consistently as if they were about to drift off to sleep.
He sighed, running a hand through his hair. "Kiogo*, why aren't you sleeping?" he murmured, trying not to frighten the boy as he walked closer with a raised eyebrow.
Aizawa could say he felt a bit surprised when you suddenly perked up at the sound of his voice. All he saw was the lit up eyes and toothy smile you had on your face, happy to see him return.
"Welcom.. back.." you mumbled, tail wagging side to side in a tired manner.
"Ah.."
The latter sighed again, wondering how you even had this much mental and physical energy to stay up this late. What time was it? It could almost be considered as the time some people would wake up already. But you still waited, like a loyal companion.
"Damnit kid.. you didn't have to wait for me."
"B-but.. I wanna hug, then sleepy."
A pause.
"Okay, fine.."
Aizawa had to quickly slip away and change his clothes back to a more casual attire, since he didn't want you getting any rainwater on you where his attire was soaked in.
He gently picked you up afterwards, himself crawling onto the bed and placing you against his chest.
It was warm and cozy. Just like you remembered it to be.
You rubbed your face against his chest, making sure not to poke him with your horns as well. It happened a few times, and let's just say your guardian wasn't too pleased with it.
You wrapped your arms around him, hands clenching and unclenching at the fabric in a steady pace, a habit you liked to do when you felt comfortable and at peace.
"mm.. nice.. warm.." a sigh of content left your lips, feeling your guardian's hand run through your hair soothingly.
"Goodnight already, kid."
"Night.."
Then, your eyes closed, and you succumbed to a peaceful slumber. ( honk shoo, like this. )
This was just some random chapter. I'm still thinking about what to write next...
Also, Aizawa wanted to wipe away the water on the ground, but he felt stuck since he was getting snuggled up so tightly. 😈
