Anthony Bridgerton-A Diamond Must Shine

It was presentation day in the Ton. The day where marriage minded misses would present themselves to the queen in hopes of becoming the seasons incomparable otherwise known as the Diamond of the Season. 

One of these misses was Cressida Cowper.

"Cressida! Come now let me see you in your dress!" Lady Cowper shouted

Cressida walked down the stairs In a white gown that went down past her ankles with a feather adorned on her head.

"Oh darling you are beautiful! Almost as beautiful as I was"

However not every woman of age was being presented, Ella Cowper was forbidden by her Mama to be presented.

"Wow Cressida, some how, and mind you I did not believe it possible, you some how look harf way decent...If only the insides matched the outsides" Ella said as she flashed a condescending smile at her sister

"Hush now Ella! Go fetch your sister her fan so we may be off"

Ella rolled her eyes and did as her mother said.

"Try not to trip" she said as she handed the fan to her sister 

"Try not to get your old  house dress dirty while you are doing mama's bidding Ella" Cressida smirked

Little did Cressida know that her Mama's chores would not be getting done tonight. Ella had a plan. She would be presented come hell or high water. The faster she was presented, the faster she could marry the boy she had been secretly courting for years, and the faster she could escape the hell hole she called home.

The moment Cressida and her Mama exited. Ella put her plan into motion. She swiftly ran up stairs into her room and reached under her bed. She pulled out a beautiful white floor length gown, that was bejeweled with diamonds and had a sheer cape that flowed beautifully when she walked. 

She had secretly ordered it from Madame De La Qua who was in on the plan and put it under Credessa's name so her Father would not know the difference.

She quickly laced herself up in her corset (a skill she had become quite good at when her Mama banned the maids from aiding her in anyway). Then she fixed her hair, put make up on her face, laced up her shoes, and put on the jewelry her grandmother had gifted her for her birthday.

Then as if her life were a Fairy Tale, Anthony Bridgerton's carriage pulled up outside of her home. She snuck down the steps and to his carriage as to not let any of the maids notice she was gone.

"Lord Bridgerton" she curtsied, "what a pleasant surprise" she smirked

"Miss.Cowper," he took her hand and kisses her knuckles "a surprise indeed that I saw you wondering the street and decided to pick you up"

She smiled and he helped her into the carriage and they were off. ————————————————————---------------------------------------------------------------------------

When they arrived Lady Bridgerton was awaiting them.

"Lady Bridgerton," she curtsied once more "a pleasure to see you...and thank you for doing this"

"It is my pleasure my dear, they could not keep you in that home forever" she winked "now let us make our way in before your mama sees you"
