I had gotten home from the arcade not too long ago. Rui and I were out pretty late. But it was so much fun. I was lying in bed, and I took my phone out. It was nice to be able to just text him now.
Rui :3 💜
Me: Hi Rui!!! It's me, Tsukasa!
Rui :3 💜: Hi, what are you up to this late?
Me: I'm just chilling
I thought I'd text you because today was really fun
I've never had that much fun playing games before
Rui :3 💜: Neither have I honestly
You're a lot of fun to be around
Me: Of course I'm fun!

Rui :3 💜: Yeah, I agree
Me: Btw, your name in my phone is Rui :3 💜 because your hair is very purple and your smile looks like that face
Rui :3 💜: Oh, I didn't know I smiled like that

Me: That's right!

Me: You really think so?
Rui :3 💜: Yeah
I think you've got what it takes
He believes I can become a star. And he called me a star. If he still likes planning shows, maybe we could become stars together.
Rui POV
"You look happy." Nene commented as she walked by my side to school the next morning.
"Do I?" I asked like I didn't know what she was talking about. I kept thinking about yesterday. Being at the arcade, and texting Tsukasa. How was I supposed to stop myself from smiling?
"Out with it, what happened?" Nene demanded.
"Okay, okay, I was thinking about yesterday. And I was texting Tsukasa last night too."
"Okay, so you like him?"
"Like him?" I didn't like him, right? We'd only just met. But at the same time, we've known each other for years.
"Don't lie to me, Rui."
"I don't like him, not like that." But I couldn't stop thinking about the fact he put a purple heart in my name on his phone. He even noticed the way I smiled.
"Sure." Nene sounded completely unconvinced.
"You don't believe me?" I asked.
"Of course not. You're standing next to me smiling to yourself because Tsukasa was texting you."
I just looked at her and didn't say anything. There was probably nothing I could say to convince her that I didn't like him. But I'm sure I just see Tsukasa as a good friend. I think. Doubt crept into my mind anyway. What if I do like him?
I changed the subject. "Why don't we talk about your new friend?"
"Emu? What about her?" Nene asked.
"What's she like? You haven't told me much."
"Well, her brothers run Phoenix Wonderland, the amusement park. She's very energetic. It's kind of exhausting. She's fun though. She's been saying she wants to play games with me after I went on a bunch of rides with her. Oh, and she also says wonderhoy a lot. Not sure what it means though..."
"Wonderhoy? Isn't that the word your pen pal used?" I asked.
"That's it! I knew I recognized it somewhere."
"Do you think Emu might have been yours? I wouldn't be too surprised after I found out Tsukasa was mine." Nene stopped writing to her pen pal a while ago, but it would cool if it happened to be Emu.
"But how likely is that?" Nene asked.
"It might not be that unlikely. How many people in the world say wonderhoy?" I pointed out.
"Probably not many... I'll ask her if she's had a pen pal before."
