The next morning Will Swan's car pulled off of the main road leading into the reservation and into Justice Volonte's driveway. The strange girl must have been expecting them because she was on her front porch swing absentmindedly petting her very large dog.

"Will," Bella sighed, running her hands over her face, "Why are we here? We don't have time to pick up a friend -"

"You have so little faith in me," Will smirked, turning the ignition off. Ever since she realized that she was so close to getting to the bottom of whatever the hell was happening in Forks, her mindset had gotten a lot better. While she still carried around her pocket knife religiously, it was now in the pocket of one of her well-planned outfits. She had even brushed her hair that morning and called Jess for a gossip session.

"We need to find that Quileute legend Jacob mentioned, and who better to ask than Marsha Volonte? She's not a part of the whole 'cover-up conspiracy thingy' that's going on, and she probably knows them best, next to Billy Black of course."

"I know, but..." Bella sighed and put her head in her hands. "Marsha doesn't like me, and I stopped talking to Justice, and I don't want to have to meet Dad's girlfriend -"

"Woah, woah, woah!" Will said, taken aback. "I don't have the time or patience to unpack everything that you just said, so let me remind you why we're doing this. Think of Jacob, and Embry, and poor Quil."

Bella nodded slowly, realizing how selfish she was being. "You're right."

"I always am," Will smirked, getting out of the car and waving to Justice, who was starting to walk over.

"Hello!" Justice said cheerfully, her dog and several chickens running around at her feet in the tall grass. "It's great to see you both again, I feel like it's been forever!"

"I know," Will chuckled. "Things have been pretty hectic for us..."

"And it doesn't help that a certain someone 'banned' you from coming on the reservation," Justice giggled. "I knew you wouldn't listen though. That boy needs his head checked."

"Before I cut it off..." Will murmured.

"Uh. Justice. We're here to see your mother. It's important." Bella said, looking down at the dirt as she used one foot to kick some rocks that lay around.

"Oh, I know!" Justice said, not picking up on the unintentional rudeness in Bella's statement.

"She's so excited to meet you, Will," Justice said as they made their way to the house, which had been re-painted since the last time Will was there. "There's not many people who can face off with a vampire and live to tell the tale."

"You know about that?" Bella gasped, stopping in her tracks and looking at the girl suspiciously.

Justice shrugged and opened the door, standing back to let the girls through. "We know about everything that goes on in these woods. It's our main job, after all, the whole flower business is just a front and gives us a little pocket money. Just head on through to the kitchen."
