"Now that we have no interruptions, maybe we should practice that again."

Will sat at the kitchen table of Sam and Emilys house mumbling under her breath about Atomic numbers and how her chemistry teacher must have it out for her. Emily was a couple feet away humming along to the radio and making something for dinner that smelled wonderful.

"You know who's good at science stuff?" Emily said, having to raise her voice over the music. "Embry."

Will looked up at the older woman, impressed. "That's surprising. I always assumed he was just a bumbling idiot."

Emily rolled her eyes. "You're as bad as the boys, I swear."

After another fifteen minutes Will finally slammed her textbook shut and huffed. "Enough of that, I may cry."

Emily smirked, looking up from her mixing. "Spring breaks around the corner, baby, just hold on. Speaking of, I was thinking of having a little get together here... Billy Black, the Volante's, the pack of course, and then their imprints -"

"Imprints?"

Emilys movements ceased, and her head shot up to look at Will. Doing little silly things with Jared to get Paul and Willow together was one thing, but directly going against Sams wishes and telling her about the imprint bond was another.

Will squinted her eyes at the shorter girl. "There's something you're not telling me."

Emily sighed, putting down her bowl and spoon. "It's not my secret to tell... but yes. There's something else about the wolfpack that you don't know."

Will pretended that she wasn't hurt. At this point, every waking moment she wasn't at school, work, with her father, or Jess, she was here... did the pack still think she wasn't trustworthy? She felt like she belonged here, she had already started thinking of this as a second home... was she not as intertwined as she thought? "Then who can tell me?"

"Speak of the devil and he shall appear," Emily murmured, and Will turned around to face the door just as Embry, Jacob, and Paul came through on their first break from guarding the perimeter.

"Oh, hey Willow -" Paul started, smiling and making his way over to her.

"What's an imprint?" Will interrupted.

Paul's face dropped and he stopped walking haltingly. Embry scoffed out, "Not touching that one with a one-hundred-foot pole."

Emily cringed and grabbed Jacob's arm, realizing that Paul would need some privacy to explain since there was no going back now. She knew Will, which meant she realized the tall girl would never let this go. "Boys I have something to show you in the garden -"

"Nah, I want to watch this, Jared's gonna be so mad he missed it -"

"Embry!"

Will watched the boy relent, and the trio made their way outside. Emily glanced worryingly at Paul and then closed the door, leaving them alone in the kitchen. "So, Mr. Lahote, I think you have something to tell me." Will said, her voice slightly more cold than usual.
