"Well, it seems like a bomb has gone off in here -"

Will sat in the middle of the lunch table, chatting animatedly with Jessica and ignoring Mike Newton so well that he was beginning to think he was invisible. He stared at both girls with a mixture of awe and annoyance on his face, unaware that Lauren was attempting to make flirty conversation with him.

"She really said that?" Will chuckled, shaking her head back and forth and wiping away a tear. "God. Stupid bitch."

Jessica erupted into giggles again, trying to make a 'shh' sound to warn her friend that there was a teacher only two tables away. "God, Will, you're gonna get us detention!"

"Maybe you deserve it for making fun of that poor girl," Mike said suddenly, angrily stabbing at a carrot on his plate with a plastic spork, gaining the attention of the rest of the table. He wasn't sure why Jessica didn't want to date him anymore (she had always come back to him in the past), and why Will was the opposite of interested in him, despite how nice he was to her.

"Uh, what the hell are you talking about?" Jess said, her whole face contorting. "We're talking about my freshman year bully, you know, the one that was a senior at the time? I found her blog, absolutely hilarious."

Angela giggled. Although she never joined in when people were talking negatively about someone, it didn't mean she found it uninteresting.

"Isn't it so nice to know that Karma exists?" Will said dreamily, clasping her hands together in front of her. "That knowledge might save me from getting into a fistfight one day."

Eric Yorkie laughed. "I'd hate to be your opponent."

"Then never take my shift at the store again," Will said dramatically, sticking her plastic butter knife at him and squinting her eyes shut. "You never know when I might strike."

"Anyway - enough of that," said Lauren, still unsure why everyone thought the Swan girls were so amazing, "can we talk about Prom this year? I've seen absolutely no preparations."

Angela blinked slowly, hurt evident on her face. "I'm the president of the prom committee, Lauren."

"And we all think you're doing a great job," Will remarked, reaching out her hand and gently grabbing her friends. "It's a lot of responsibility, and the graduating class last year didn't even start preparations until a month before."

"It's obvious that someone isn't reading their school newspaper," Jessica remarked, raising her brows and giving Lauren a pointed look. "If they did, they would've seen that we're voting for the theme next Monday."

"I hope 50's-night wins," said Erik, earning disgusted looks from everyone around the table.

"Ew, no. Who even came up with that choice?" Jessica said, scrunching up her nose.
