I look at the screen intensely as I pick out a siren warship. As I feel like I could possibly hit it, I notice from the corner of the screen, something moving. I turn the HELIOS a bit to see a girl floating in the air as she watches the fleet in front of her.
She then slowly turns her body left, then right. Finally, behind her as she catches the sight of my shadow from the moonlight. She opens her mouth to scream or shout orders.
I didn't wait for her to breath as I pull the trigger...
In the Infared Spectrum, the HELIOS suddenly brightens the night sky with a large beam as it hits the girl all over her. it only took a millisecond for the heat to burn her away into nothing, lightly screaming as she felt pain.
The fleet reacts to the death of their commanding officer and detects the heat signature and notices my vessel.
Aegis reacts as fast as lightning and overdrives the engines as we quickly accelerate away from the enemy as they try to turn back in pursuit. Soon, multiple flashes of light fill the horizon for a moment, the next a shower of shells impact the water just short of my stern as we finally make maximum speed.
Suddenly, my sensor ring in alarm that I am currently being targeted by the advanced fire control systems of the enemy as they try to get their range right. I instinctively activate a Nulka and turn towards the coast, hoping that the enemy would have a harder time to target me.
Aegis: We have reached minimum missile range, request permission to fire.
I only nod as I focus all of my efforts into manuvering and adding decoys to throw off the enemy fire. It worked as a few volleys of fire targets the Nulka sitting above the sea behind as dozens of shells impact the area under the floating pole.
I sigh as I thought it might be over and look back to the other two. Unfortunately, the calm is overtaken by the storm. Multiple hatches open to reveal missiles, then launching into the air and arcing towards the fleet as they are guided by the dishes on my stern. Most hit, resulting in 3/4 of the fleet being destroyed.
Unfortunately, the flash of light illuminated my ship and in seconds, more warnings alert me to incoming fire. I rush over to the helm.
Me: BRACE!!!
I then yank the throttle to full reverse, under the hull, the propeller blades shift from forward to reverse in a second, throwing the water out the back, towards the front. We all slam into the consols as we fail to hold on.
Hundreds of freight trains, whoosh past us a boat length ahead of us as the enemy artillery predicted our movement weel if I didn't pull back. I then started moving forward when an shell landed very close to the ship. The explosion wasn't enough to flood but caused an emergency shut down of my port engines as their safety system circuit breakers trip.
An alarm rings as flashing lights warn me of engine failure to the engines. I then felt my blood run cold as that means that without the port engines and propeller, I would be easy meat.
I look out to the side to see an inlet that I believe could be wide enough for me to squeeze between. Taking the throttles once again, I push the right one forward as I felt the engines give their all.
Me: Vestal, got a problem with my engines
Vestal: (runs out of the bridge) On it!
I look back out front to see the hills marking land come up in front of us at very close range.
Me: *sigh* This place won't go in enough or windy enough for us to sit put. We need to set up an ambush. Unicron, could you go out to the side rail to see if we could clear?
