Gneisenau is musing in her chair as she idly plays with a yoyo until the radio comes alive, the kansen picks up the phone
Scharnhorst: Gneisenau?
Gneisenau: Yes?
Scharnhorst: Find her?
Gneisenau: No, I had picked up a transmission nearby. So far it is nothing.
Suddenly a flash of light encompasses the horizon.
Gneisenau: I see something... A flash, what's-
The bridge shakes a bit as something explodes on the top end of the tower. Gneisenau runs out to the wing and looks up to see her radar and topmost rangefinder is completely destroyed. She then runs back inside and get onto the radio again.
Gneisenau: My radar just got hit, I need you here now! There is no way a shell just conveniently takes out my radar.
Scharnhorst (laughs) Oh how unfortunate sister. I am on my way at maximum speed, can you see who it is?
Gneisenau: No, it's too dark to make out anything. With the sun coming soon, we both can obliterate to whoever did that.

Scharnhorst was racing at top speed towards Gneisenau. A typewriter begins typing words suddenly. The battleship rushes over to see the message
'WARNING:: 157 ENEMY HAS SIREN TECHNOLOGY, USE CAUTION. DEPLOY SIREN FLEETS TO BLOCK INCOMING ATTACKS
Scharnhorst begins to panic and tries to warn Gneisenau, but as she turns back on her radio, a buzzing sound overtakes any attempts at talking. Slamming the phone down into its receiver, Scharnhorst looks out on the horizon as flashes of light go from one side to another

I head inside the CIC as the computers restart their programing. I look to one computer screen as it is monitoring Aegis in her own chamber a floor below. I then turn my attention back to the situation currently developing.
With sunrise coming in 30 minutes, I could be in trouble as Gneisenau heads towards me, I look down to the south to see Scharnhorst steaming up here as well.
As the ship nears the point where the course will change, I grab my headphones and open the commlink to Aegis
Me: Aegis, once we finish the turn, I want full air and surface weapons loaded on weapons tight.
Aegis: Uploading weapon parameters with data link
I open the radio channel as I disable jamming frequencies.
Me: Warship Gneisenau, warship Scharnhorst. This is Warship 157, USS Johnston. You are closing on my location, state your intentions and keep well clear as I am operating under freedom of navigation in international waters. If you do not reply with your intentions, I Will take defensive measures.
I then activate radio jamming to make coordinating between the two forces difficult. Once done, I head out of the CIC and onto the bridge to take command.
Just then whistling sounds from overhead and when the whistling gets louder, huge columns of water splash near the ship. I head over to the bridge wing to see the ship on the horizon, another flash of light tells me that she is firing again.
Taking evasive action, I turn away from the ship just as the second salvo hits where I should have been. Impressed by the kansen's effort I have my own armament to take care of.
