the eyes (scary poem)

There are eyes everywhere,

watching

waiting

staring

Wide open

One in the window and one in the cupboard

One in everywhere else

So I took a pin and poked them out

But then I woke up in the night and they danced above my bed

Their lashes playfully taunting, and all of them staring at my head

And a voice inside my brain said this: "yours will be next, join us and see.  Give your eyes to the cause, or we will take them.  Give to those in need."

And so I refused

And now I'm quite bemused

Now instead of eyes I'm told, I have just two bloody sockets

At least that's what people say

It's not like I would know, cause they're gone anyway

And still now I think back to that day, wondering what I did wrong

They had said, "we'll see you at the end of may."
