Today I felt a shoulder pain, and low and behold there was wings
They sparkled like diamond rings
My wish had been granted and I was finally free
So I ran into my yard, and all I could see
Was a cloudless starry sky beckoning to me
So I flew into the atmosphere
And all I could hear
Was the wind joyfully carrying away my tears
I soared on my beautiful wings, not thinking of anything
And I watched the tiny city lights waving at me
But then gravity pulled me down you see
How could it be so cruel?
I was such a fool
To thing I could be free
And now I was falling
Woe is me
The wind rushed through my head again, but this time in a different direction
And my stomach was falling with me to my near doom
Then I hit a building
I tumbled on a lawn
What came from my mouth was a yawn
And I realized that what I thought was the ground was a bed
A drop of water on my cheek said, it was too good to be true
My wings were gone, and my limbs like lead
I was a fool
