Chapter Eleven:

After a few minutes of sharp, intense stares between them, Victor broke the silence:
"I think we both understand the situation."

Jack continued glaring at him, his face tense with anger, ready for anything. Victor approached slowly, extending his hand towards him, which made Jack flinch and step back in alarm. Victor smiled reassuringly:
"Don't worry. My name is Victor. I have one of the sacred books, and it seems like you have one too."

Jack's eyes widened in surprise:
"The sacred books?..."

Victor smiled again and said in a calm tone:
"Are you curious? Come with me, and you'll find out."

Jack hesitated, looked around, and then decided to follow Victor. As they walked through the narrow streets one after another, they finally arrived at a residential complex. Victor headed towards a house with a red mark on the door, numbered "16." As soon as Victor placed his foot in front of the door, it opened automatically.

Jack's eyes widened in astonishment. He tried to step through the door but felt as though an invisible barrier was blocking him.

Victor stepped back out, looking at his book, and then glanced at Jack, saying with a grin:
"Sorry, I forgot you can't pass through."

With a quick snap of his fingers, Jack fell into the house as the barrier vanished, since he had been leaning on it. He quickly stood up and scanned the room cautiously. Suddenly, he felt something strange in his bag. Opening it quickly, he found that the Book of Death was behaving oddly; its pages were flipping rapidly as if trying to escape the bag!

Suddenly, the book leapt up and stuck to the ceiling. Jack was shocked, and both he and Victor tried to bring the book down.

Meanwhile, in another part of town, Amy was sitting on her bed, surrounded by a large collection of stuffed animals. She was browsing the internet, but suddenly paused, remembering that embarrassing moment when she bumped into that boy at school.

She muttered to herself, nervously:
"Why? Why can't I forget that moment?"

Then, for a brief second, his face flashed in her memory. Her cheeks flushed red, and she whispered hesitantly:
"Is this what they call... love at first sight?"
