Chapter Twelve

After Jack shook hands with Victor, he left Victor's house and walked back home. Victor watched him from his house with keen interest as the camera zoomed in on Victor's features, who was reading one of the books. He then closed the book and said: "This is where your journey begins, Jack. Don't expect me to be lenient with you in this."

Victor then entered the house and closed the door. He approached the Book of Death, which was on the table. Victor picked it up and examined its details, then said: "You wanted to win, Jack, then so be it. You must suffer to recover from your problems; in the end, that's life, Jack." Victor placed the book in one of the drawers in the library in the basement and then said: "Lisa," Lisa replied: "Yes, sir, what are your orders today?" Victor said: "Remove Jack from the list of people who can enter the house and tighten the defenses when he is spotted approaching the house." Lisa replied: "As you wish, sir."

On the other side, Jack arrived at his home. He took off his clothes, went to the bathroom, and then put on his clothes. He turned on the TV and sat watching it, then began to mumble aloud: "What does he think of me? A fool? Of course I can live like any ordinary person without my book for two weeks."

After spending several hours in front of the TV, Jack got up and went to have dinner, then put a lot of fish in one of the dog bowls and said: "Hey, wolf, your food is ready." After a while, Jack looked at the dark corner of the kitchen and said: "What? Why don't you come out to eat?" Jack's eyes widened, and he laughed: "Get a grip, you idiot. By the end of this challenge, everything will be as it was, I hope the wolf is in a good place."

The next day, Jack woke up early for a change, and his head was aching. He got up, swaying left and right from the dizziness, until he reached the bathroom and washed his face, then said: "What is this? I haven't felt this way in many years. Oh yes, it's been a long time since I was ill. Is this a feature of the Book of Death or what?" (Groaning) "My head!" Jack put on his black coat and went out to work.

After walking through several streets, Jack reached the front of the store where he worked and opened the door. The manager, who was arranging video tapes on one of the shelves, was astonished to see Jack arriving at work three hours earlier than usual. The manager muttered some incomprehensible words while staring at Jack in amazement, but Jack ignored it and put on his work clothes.

Jack spent every hour of his shift suffering. After finishing his shift, he got up from his chair, holding his head. While walking down the street, he reached one of the stores specializing in selling tea that calms the nerves. Jack entered the store, hopeful of finding a solution to his problem. As he swayed back and forth, he reached the ordering area, which was empty. Jack's vision turned foggy.
