(Edward's POV)
'That was a drag, does she ever quit?' was the first thought I had after finally leaving biology class, this issue with Bella becoming more and more frustrating the longer it goes on, 'maybe I should do a better job of staying away?', shaking my head with a shrug, I head to the cafeteria, meeting Alice and Emmett in the halls and we proceed into the cafeteria, towards our table where Jasper and Rosalie are already seated and seem to have been discussing something seriously, 'That's odd, those two usually wait for the rest of us in the hall to go together.. did something happen?' I hear Emmett wonder in his mind and I can't help but think the same as we all reach the table and take our seats.'Something is definitely up with Azira, why else would feel these strange feelings around her? Maybe Alice might see something more about her..' I hear coming from Rosalie's mind as she starts explaining the earlier events during her math class with the new girl, 'Huh, so her name is Azira.. Unique.'. After taking in the details from Rosalie, Jasper also shares his experience of history class with Azira and it wouldn't be a stretch to say all of us were shocked by the knowledge her presence calmed his thirst throughout the lesson. Just as we began to seriously discuss possibilities of what's going on, our focus was disrupted by that calming, magnetic presence once more and we all subconsciously turned our gaze to the grey-eyed girl as she made her way and took a seat at Bella and her friends' table.
(Narrator's POV)
All five vampires' eyes followed the figure of the dark skinned girl from the moment she entered the cafeteria all the way to when she took a seat at the table not so far away from theirs. They watched with fascination and puzzlement as they tried to figure out why they felt strange in the presence of this girl and wonder what was so special about her. They watched how disinterested she appeared to Jessica's gossiping as she ate her food, her movements carrying a subtle practiced grace that's not common to normal teenagers but without close observation this detail goes unnoticed to everyone else around her. They tried to keep subtle as they pretended to eat and discussed how they felt, Jasper visibly relaxing throughout lunch period yet again from the presence of the grey-eyed girl sparking more speculation on how and why amongst them. It's not until halfway through lunch that Edward shows a frustrated expression which sparks the curiosity of the others, "i can't read her mind." grumbles the dark brown haired vampire as he sulks, earning an eye roll from Rosalie,"Great. Another human with weird vibes..", "Hey, don't be like that. Who knows, maybe she might not be so bad?" Says Emmett as he tries to cheer his scowling girlfriend up with a goofy smile earning a small giggle from her. "Emmett's right, she might be good company going forward. I have a feeling she's full of mystery and will get more involved with us in the future." chimed in the ever optimistic Alice as she glances over at the grey-eyed girl with enthusiasm earning a supportive nod from Jasper.
As lunch comes to an end, they watch as Azira gets up and leaves the cafeteria after exchanging some words with Bella. The school day continues smoothly and by the end, all five vampires come to the conclusion of discussing the happenings of the day with Carlisle and hope he may have answers or clues as to what these strange feelings are.
