(Edward's POV)
'Was that-? No, it couldn't have been.. but.. I heard it clear.. she thinks I'm.. cute?' If vampires could blush, I would be as red as a tomato by now from her close proximity alone. She smells so good and her presence feels so soothing too, my thoughts are consumed with questions as to why I was able to get into her mind for that split second but as I try again, nothing.I looked away and tried to come out of my daze as I watched her walk back to her seat, my thoughts now processing this ability she displayed, the speculations of what she is become more and more puzzling.
And what's more, I'm not sure whether to dwell on the fact she new what we were all along or the notion that she can block out all physical and mental abilities from tampering with her at will. 'So that's why I haven't been able to read her mind.. does she know of my ability as well?..', the thought crossed my mind and I focused my gaze on her, deeply contemplating.
(Narrator's POV)
The curious atmosphere bubbled more fervently amongst the Olympic coven after Azira's display of her force shield ability. More questions brewing as they take turns asking more to which she answers what she can.As the atmosphere becomes more harmonious and the conversations divert from questions and answers to a more relaxed chat where they share some things about themselves with Azira and vice versa.
Sharing there abilities with her as well as explaining everything about the type of connection she has with them on a supernatural level. After the whole explanation, they hold their breaths (that they don't even need to begin with) as they wait for her response to being their coven mate.
(Azira's POV)
'What in the name of all things ancient!?... so, not only did I get the attention of a coven of 7 vampires but it turns out I'm their coven mate too!?.. well damn, talk about a full package.' I think to myself as I look at them and say,"I see. Well, I'm okay with getting to know you guys a bit more before engaging in anything romantic at the moment. I understand this is natural for your species but it's not the same for me.." before I can continue further, I notice the slight glint of sadness behind their expressions and I could have sworn i heard a whine from one of them.
With a sigh, I continue seriously, "Don't go getting sad before I finish making my point. What I mean is, I do feel the connection with you all but I feel it differently. It's a deep connection that makes me feel destined with you all but it's not so specific of a connection that I instantly feel romantic connections with you all."
The sadness in their eyes diminishes at my explanation and it seems their spirits are raised at the big possibility of still having a romance with me, the reassurance of not being rejected enough to make them excited again. I don't know whether to laugh or cry, 'My goodness.. it's like they're puppies or something, kinda cute..'
After reassuring them that I'm not rejecting them, they buzz back to life and start going through plans of hanging out with me both as groups and individual time depending on my schedule, I cooperate best I can and make sure those plans don't collide with my 'schedule' as well.
Once everything is settled, it's late into the night and I suggest they head back home but I'm left helpless as they seem reluctant to leave, Emmett outright giving me sad puppy eyes to which I almost deadpan. After a solid 5 minutes of stares, I give in and let them stay, to which they cheer up immediately.
'This will be.. more interesting than I expected.' I get up and grab some snacks from the kitchen before coming back and getting comfortable with them. Since they'll be staying the night, might as well turn it into a movie night.
Sandwiching myself between Alice and Edward on the sofa, I turn the TV on and put on a horror movie I've been meaning to watch. "What movie is this? What's the plot?" Asks Emmett, to which I respond languidly, "I don't know, something about possession and church. It's called The Nun."
We get comfortable and the movie begins. From time to time I pass a comment or two about the jumpscares, honestly not so impressed by the movie, earning contemplative glances from Carlisle, Esme and Rosalie.
