The next morning, the sun shone brightly over Jeju Island, casting a warm glow on everything it touched.
Taehyung's parents had suggested they all go to the park for the day, and despite the slight awkwardness between them after last night's intimate moment, Jayti and Taehyung found themselves looking forward to spending time together.
Taehyung and Jayti decided to spend the day at the amusement park with his parents, a perfect opportunity to enjoy a carefree day. Taehyung's parents were in high spirits, excited to visit the park, and they seemed even more thrilled at how close Taehyung and Jayti appeared. The couple was beginning to feel more natural in each other's company, and today was a chance to explore this new dynamic.
They entered the amusement park, hand in hand, mostly for show since Taehyung's parents were walking behind of them, but it felt natural now. The air was filled with the cheerful sounds of families and couples enjoying the rides, cotton candy, and laughter that floated through the warm breeze, the cheerful sounds of laughter and music filled the air. Families, couples, and friends wandered around, enjoying the rides and attractions. Taehyung, feeling a bit nervous but excited, held Jayti's hand loosely, sneaking glances at her as they walked.
Taehyung glanced at Jayti as they approached the first ride, the Ferris wheel. Her eyes were wide with excitement, her usual guarded demeanor softened by the playful atmosphere around them. He couldn't help but smile, feeling a sense of calm he hadn't felt in a long time.
"You want to go on that?" Taehyung asked, nodding toward the towering Ferris wheel.
Jayti bit her lip, her cheeks flushing slightly. "I haven't been on a Ferris wheel in years."
"Then let's change that today," he said, a playful grin tugging at his lips.
The first ride was then decided ..... was a slow ferris wheel, perfect for enjoying the scenic views of the island. They climbed into one of the enclosed cabins, the world slowly rising beneath them as the Ferris wheel carried them higher into the sky.
As they ascended, Jayti found herself relaxing into the moment, the height making her a bit uneasy but Taehyung's presence grounding her. His hand never left hers, offering quiet reassurance. His parents, sitting in the adjacent seats, pointed out the sights, clearly enjoying the peace of the ride.
From up there, the view of the island was breathtaking.....the ocean sparkling in the distance, the trees swaying gently in the wind.
But Taehyung wasn't focused on the view. Instead, he found himself looking at Jayti, who was leaning toward the window, her eyes wide with awe.
"It's beautiful," she whispered, almost to herself.
"You are," Taehyung replied quietly, the words slipping out before he could stop them.
Jayti turned to him, surprised. For a moment, they just stared at each other, the distance between them feeling almost non-existent in the small cabin. Taehyung could feel his heart racing again, the pull toward her stronger than ever. The air between them was thick with an unspoken tension, but this time, it wasn't awkward. It was full of promise.
Jayti's cheeks flushed, and she quickly looked away, but Taehyung reached out, gently taking her hand. "I mean it," he said, his voice soft but sincere. "You're beautiful, Jayti."
She hesitated for a moment, but then she smiled....a shy, genuine smile that made Taehyung's heart swell. She didn't say anything, but the look in her eyes was enough.
On the other side, his parents were clearly hearing the couple and smiling at each other and back to enjoying their own moments.
As the ferris wheel reached its peak, Taehyung leaned closer to Jayti, his voice soft and warm. "Look at that view," he said, nodding toward the horizon where the ocean met the sky. "It's beautiful."
