"Wait, how did you do that?!" Ferdell said while he looked at his hand
"Can I do that?"
"Well I just thought of the move in-game and how it was performed," Kengo said while still analyzing his sword.
Ferdell pointed to another rock and said "Fire!?" and as he spoke a ball of fire sparked in his hand and was sent hurdling outward toward the rock engulfing it in a matter of seconds.
"My turn" Ireen yanked his bow from out of its strapping on his back.
He pulled an arrow loose from its quiver and stretched it back on the string. Mimicking Ferdell He said "Collective Arrow Cluster!". He released the arrow and it flew through the air. He then snapped his fingers and the arrow split into countless others. The arrows all curved outward and then took a dive inward to the rock and showered every inch of the side that was facing them in arrows. Kengo and Ferdell were amazed at his power, the same as they were with their own.
"Wow, very specific," Kengo said still in a slight bit of shock
"So what else do you think I need to know, did you guys find anything out about why we are here or why we look like this" Ireen asked.
"No, but we did find something out about our appearances and we have to see if it happened to you to confirm our suspicion," Kengo said
"Could you take off your helmet?" Ferdell said while pointing to Ireen
"Umm, sure" he placed his hands on his helmet and undid the latch pulling the armor off. Just Like Kengo and Wilfred thought, He was also nothing but bones.
"What? Why are you guys staring? WHAT IS IT?" Ireen said getting a little frustrated
"Well being here comes with some ups and downs, for instance..." Ferdell and Kengo both pulled off their face and headgear showing Ireen that they were skeletons. Ireen wandered over to the water and stared at himself for a moment
"Whoa, that's weird" Ireen spoke while still analyzing his face
"It's not a natural occurrence though, you guys remember last night the curse we got while playing" Kengo
"Yes I do, it was The Curse of Bone and Spirit I believe" Ferdell recalled
"Exactly, we got the curse last night, and now we are in a video game world today, so I believe that we have to break that curse to get out of here" Kengo exclaimed as he pondered
"Or we could just find the "quit" button" Ferdell added "That could work too" Ireen agreed
They all stood and thought for a moment.
"Well we should try and find the quit button first and if that doesn't work let's break the curse."
"We should take inventory first before we get going" Ferdell suggested
Kengo, Ferdell, and Ireen took a moment and laid out all their equipment. They took a moment to analyze what they had.
"So I'll go first" Ferdell announced " I have a pouch of potion ingredients, a dagger, a magic book, a bandolier of glass cylinders with various potions in them, a potion crossbow or launcher, a compass with the engraving "Keep your path in mind, and it will light your way" which I only assume is a magic compass that tells me where I want to go based on the rhyme, and a strange book. Alright Your turn" Ferdell said while he pointed to Ireen
"Okay, so I have a bow and quiver stuffed with various types of arrows, 5 throwing knives, some smoke bombs, a retractable wrist-mounted blade, and a strange book... OK, what is up with the strange books?" The books both had the same basic design except they had the color schemes of their favorite colors and also had their runes on them.
"Well then, I have a large sword, a dagger, an empty leather pouch, an empty water canteen, and... a strange book" Kengo held up the book, still super confused. It had his 2 favorite colors on it, light blue and black, with his rune on the center of the cover.
"OK this book has to be important in some way or else we all wouldn't have it" Kengo analyzed the book. Kengo opened it and glanced at the glossary.
"Info, quests, inventory, achievements... Wait a minute! This is a menu. It looks like a version of the Alethia menu but in physical form. I wonder... " Kengo flipped to the back of the book where the glossary had said, "Quit". But as he flipped through he realized that some pages were missing, and when he got to the end, the page was missing.
"OK, I have a feeling we need to find these pages. Here let me check something" Kengo flipped over to the quests section and a glowing quest box appeared on the page like magic.
"It says, Quest! Find the missing pieces, Find the missing pieces and you will become whole again. Well, guys, I think I know what we have to do" he also glanced over at the achievements. "Achievements? I have "Where am I? Wake up for the first time" and "It's a start, receive your first bit of damage"... Hmm, it seems that achievements also exist" He flipped over through some other pages and saw more information on the pages. He glanced over them enough to learn some key details about the world they were in now.
"So we are in Alethia. I guess I was right. Kengo said. He then shut the book and laid it back down on the sand with the rest of his equipment still processing how weird his day was
"Kengo replied " We need to get these pages back, so I have a feeling we will need that compass of yours"
Ferdell grabbed the Compass from off the ground. It spun a bunch but didn't land on a specific location; it just kept spinning.
"Uhh, Ferdell I think your compass... is broken," Ireen said
"Why is everything we get in this world ALREADY BROKEN!?" Ferdell said as he was getting frustrated
"OK, seriously I agree with Ferdell," Ireen said
"Alright, well I guess we have to find someone to repair this " Ferdell said as he collected his gear and held up the compass. He slipped the necklace the compass was hung on over his head and secured his mask after it. Kengo and Ireen did the same, latching their helmets in place and picking their gear up.
"We should get going, It would be better to find civilization as early as possible," Kengo said while slipping his sword into its sheath on his back.
The 3 of them scaled over a rock pile separating the beach from a grassy plain.
They stopped a moment after they stepped into the empty, grassy plains and Kengo reminded everyone "So just to make sure we don't get noticed too much. So don't remove your helmets, Don't use slang and mannerisms from our world, and act seriously. Treat this as a roleplay, we just need to act our parts"
He then straightened out his back and his voice became astoundingly deep. He clenched his fist and held it up to his chest, staring out into the horizon he said with a booming passion
"We must commit to these roles if we want to survive and escape from this unknown plain!"
"Holy crap dude, let me try" Ferdell then pulled the same passion from the bottom of his chest and announced to the sky "No one shall stand in our way" Then Ferdell let out a booming laugh.
"Whoa, " Ireen said
