A lone man fitted with bulky knight armor was lying on the beach. The crashing of the waves eventually woke him from his slumber. The waves made everything still.
"What?" The man stuttered to himself. 'Where am I?"
He held his hand up in front of his face, the sun seemed brighter than usual, so much it seemed unnatural. Confusion flooded him like the waves of the sea.
"What am I wearing?" The man sat up, but the weight of the armor dragged him down.
"Is this Medieval armor?"
He was dumbfounded because he only remembered going to sleep in his bedroom. He sits up and stares down at the armor that coats his body. The metal was well forged and was in pretty great condition minus the obvious battle damage, scratches, and dents. Markings were carved with great intention throughout the armor, it seemed to be the only thing that was carved into the suit that was intentional
"There is only one explanation for this" The man stared at the ocean "I... am dreaming"
That must be it, there was no possible way he was awake right now. He was just in a lucid dream. Yet he felt everything, the sand in between his fingers, the sun glaring into his eyes. He felt a flow of calm wash over his body.
"Hmm, that's strange. Well guess I just have to wait here until I wake up"
So he sat down on the beach and drank up his pleasing surroundings. He listened to the birds, watched the waves, and felt the wind blow on him.
"You know I wonder how I look with all this on." He wandered over to the water until he was knee-high in water flowing into the leg pieces of the armor.
"Wow, it feels so weird, I can feel the water" He said with a grin.
He shook his head as he reminded himself he was still dreaming. He thought of what he was doing just before he woke up on this beach. He was sitting in his room playing video games with his two buddies Ferdell and Ireen, he remembered it being an online RPG fantasy game that was very popular with the loners of life. He decided to go to bed afterward even when it was already 1:00 in the morning. He stood there and pondered on what time it was now.
But that didn't matter, now he was on a beach in the middle of nowhere wearing some armor that felt like almost nothing when he was wearing it. He snapped out of the flashback and proceeded to remove his helmet. He felt the wind breeze throughout his face and looked down into the water. He jumped as the reflection of a bony face stared back at him.
"What the..." Mumbled out of his mouth.
He leaned in closer to get a better look at his face and found that he had no skin, no eyes, no muscle... no nothing. Nothing except for his fragile frame, he looked like a Halloween decoration if it had a mustache and a Mohawk. The emptiness of his eyes gave him the shivers and he wondered if it was the same case for the rest of his body too.
"Wow, this dream is getting weird." He said dismissing any anxiety.
Because this was still a dream right? He had not woken up yet. He turned around and started limping back to shore. Except as he stepped his foot connected to a rock under the water's surface and he tripped. The cold water splashed up into his face as he went under the water. Water was pouring down the armor and he began to sink. He yanked himself back up above the water. He threw himself and tumbled onto the shore. Heaving for air.
"Am I dreaming... or is this real"
The answer became clear. How could a dream like this be so real? He sat and thought until he heard a slight noise, kind of like the shuffle of sand. He then heard a shriek. He flung his head around only to see the stone that was now hurtling towards him. The stone connected with his forehead and he heard a small crack. Sparks of pain shot through his skull. He fell back clutching his head in his hands.
