Over multiple hours they traveled a massive distance. The dirt road was very empty and boring. Kengo drove the horse-pulled cart, even after multiple failed attempts to get the horses to listen to him: although, he had ridden and learned to ride horses a little when he was visiting a farm owned by his grandfather. Ferdell and Ireen had nodded off to sleep some hours back to recharge from the brutal battle they had encountered.
Even a full night's rest had them exhausted. Kengo wasn't tired so he offered to drive.
All Kengo had seen for a while was just the road, the plains surrounding him, the foliage that coated his surroundings, and the worn-down piece of paper that had the path they were told to travel on. Finally, there was a weather and rickety sign on the side of the road reading "Welcome to Woodsmere ''. It was the first sign of life other than the worn-down dirt path they had been following for a few hours and the Dobte's farm.
"Hey guys wake up! Where here!" Kengo kicked Ferdell and Ireen awake
"What?" Ferdell wiped the sleep from his eyes and yanked his body up while Ireen loosely mimicked.
"On our right. There a sign pointing us to the town" Kengo pointed a finger towards a path that split off from the main road
"Alright, showtime" Ferdell cracked his knuckles and sat back down on a wooden bench in the back of the cart
Kengo turned the cart down the path which cut through a wooded area. After a few minutes of traveling down the path they slipped back into an open plain and not far away, a trail of smoke could be seen
"Almost there," Ireen said, looking at the smoke rising high into the sky.
Kengo rode the cart over the small hills and they pulled up to the small rugged village surrounded by a small forest. As they rode into the town they got a lot of weird stares and glances.
One villager whispered "They look so Impressive. Look at all the engravings on their armor and the stitches in the guy's robe. Why are they in our village"
Another villager whispered "What do they need that is worth being out here in the middle of nowhere"
Kengo awkwardly parked the cart in an empty space next to the town pub. They stepped off the cart and up the stairs to the pub door. As they stepped inside, the whole pub looked over at them with weird stares. Many whispers proceeded as Kengo, Ferdell, and Ireen stepped up to the counter.
Hello there good sir, we are looking to sell some supplies we possess" Ferdell waited for a response from the bartender. A significant amount of time passed before the bartender responded
"Just go down the road, take a left, and then a right, the town's shopkeeper is in the building on the right with a storage building next to it. I will warn you she doesn't have much money to pay for goods like most of us in this village, so you'll most likely have to barter and trade items for items" The bartender went back to work and the three left for the shop.
They stepped through the doors of the shop and were greeted by a friendly, petite woman with a cheery smile despite her situation. She had pretty pink hair and star shaped pupils.
"Hello yall folks welcome to the Moonblossom Emporium, My name is Marla Moonblossom how may I help you on this beautiful day" The cheery woman said with a wide smile
'Hello Ms. Moonblossom, we were hoping to sell and or trade some goods we have, ' Ferdell signaled to Kengo to drop the 2 bags of equipment on the ground. "We will take whatever you can bargain with, food, money, anything"
"Well first off call me Marla, and second let's take a look at what you've brought me so I can make a deal" She stepped over to the bags and opened them.
