After a bit of walking down the road, Ferdell realized he left his satchel back at the Dobte's home.
"Wait guys, I left my bag back at the Dobte's, I gotta go back. I put the compass in there" Ferdell spun around and jogged back
"Your lucky we didn't get too far or else we would be screwed" Kengo and Ireen followed Ferdell back to the house
But as they came over a small hill the road had gone over they saw a group of what looked like bandits threatening the Dobte's.
"Do you have the goods or not" one Bandit demanded
"N-No not right now... but we have a boar a traveling party gave to us as a gift. You can have that instead. W-Would you like to see it before you decide" Mrs. Dobte looked scared out of her mind even with Mr. Dobte comforting her.
"Who the hell are those guys" Ireen whispered
"I don't know but I feel that we should help. Let's get in closer" The three of them snuck in closer and hopped over the farm's fence while creeping to the barn.
Once they were in the barn they listened as the Dobte's led the bandits to the back and showed them the boar
"Whoa, this is impressive. This will work as a fine payment for the month, But you better have our supplies by next month or else" The bandits started getting ready to load the Boar's carcass up onto a cart.
Kengo knew it was time. This was his chance to step in and learn more about whatever was going on with the Dobte's because it wasn't good. Kengo snuck back to the front yard and pretended to just stroll into the yard.
"Hello, Mrs. and Mr. Dobte. Ferdell left his satchel here, so I looped back to grab it... Oh sorry, I didn't realize you had guests over" Kengo tried to look as harmless as possible but it was hard with a giant sword on his back.
One of the bandits leaned over to Mrs. Dobte and whispered to her "You didn't say there would be extra company. Who the hell is he? And who is Ferdell?!" The bandit eyed Kengo suspiciously. Mrs. Dobte tried to calm the bandit down and hinted to Kengo to leave.
Mrs. Dobte nervously stuttered out the quick explanation "Oh, he was just a part of some travelers who got lost. We let them stay the night in the barn and we gave them directions to town. I'm sure he'll only be a moment" Mrs. Dobte sounded like she could barely manage to put together the sentences.
Mrs. Dobte looked at Kengo in what she probably thought were his eyes and gave him a look that could only have meant one thing... Leave while you still can. Kengo eyed that most bandits were all holding their weapons in their holsters and sheaths like they were preparing to murder him. He better be real careful even though their weapons were still holstered he assumed they wouldn't be for much longer
"Well, I'll just go grab his stuff and leave" Kengo jogged over to the barn, stepped inside, and closed the doors behind him
"Ok, so we have about 10 hostiles and Mr. and Mrs. Dobte in the middle. So I say you and Ferdell set up an archer post in the barn's roof and peek through the window up there and when I yell "Fire" you release a rain of arrows. Preferably the ones that seek specific people that you pick out beforehand "
"Alright, Will do" Ireen and Ferdell both took one jump and flew up to the top of the barn almost 15 feet straight up
"oh ya, we learned that we can jump very high" Ireen and Ferdell set up at the barn window just out of sight.
"I can see that" Kengo replied making a mental note of the ability
"We'll be waiting for your signal" Ferdell gave a thumbs up. Kengo stepped over to Ferdell's bag, grabbed it, and tossed it up to Ferdell. Ferdell took out all the most important items such as the compass and some potions. He threw the bag back down and Kengo stepped back out of the barn and into the field again. He stepped up by Mr. Dobte
