Morning came early and the sun was shining through the cracks in the roof. Kengo sat up and rubbed the sleep out of his eyes. He sleepily stared at his surroundings confirming that he was still in the barn. Ireen and Ferdell woke up shortly after
"Well it's been confirmed, we are in another world," Ferdell said with a low voice
They all pulled themselves up, folded their blankets neatly, and put them in a pile. Mrs. Dobte opened the barn doors, stepped inside the barn, and greeted Kengo, Ireen, and Ferdell.
"Good morning, I made breakfast if you hungry," Mrs Dobte said with a smile holding a tray with 3 plates of food
"Thank you," Ireen said accepting the tray
"Here" Kengo handed back the blankets
"Meet me over by the house when you're ready and we will give you your task" Mrs.Dobte then turned away and walked back to the house.
The trio ate quickly but enjoyed every bite. It was the best food they had ever tasted, the eggs were pristine and the bread roll was freshly baked. The trio walked over to the house and handed the trey back to Mrs. Dobte.
"Thank you for breakfast, Ma'am, so what do we need to do?" Kengo asked eagerly to get the day going fast.
"Well... there is an ogre that lives in the nearby woods who continually seals our crops and livestock making it difficult for us... so we need your help getting rid of him. Slay the ogre or get him to leave us alone. Please I beg of you" Mrs. Dobte had a bit of sadness in her voice and the trio knew she was truly suffering. So they accepted the task
"You can count on us, it will be our pleasure," Ferdell said with a cheery voice
"Thank you, you don't know how much this means to us" Mrs. Dobte was practically on the verge of tears now.
Ireen reassured Mrs. Dobte "Well be back, and your ogre problem will be no more" Ireen then turned and walked away towards the forest and Ferdell and Kengo followed. Once they got fairly into the woods they looked around for the ogre but didn't find much of anything. After moving further into the forest they saw a cave on the side of a small rocky hill.
"I think that's it" Kengo slowly stepped forward toward the cave just as a giant ogre came stomping out
Even with Kengo being 7 feet tall the ogre still towered over him easily
"Hello there, we are here to make an arrangement," Kengo said in an authoritarian voice
"What for?" The ogre replied in a booming voice
"You have been stealing crops and animals from the nearby farm and we're here to put an end to it, so either leave or meet the end of my sword" Kengo held a tight grip on his sword
" And why should I listen to you, I could crush you into a tin can with my bear hands bucket head"
"Well if you're not going to obey my order then I'd like to see you try" Kengo shifted his legs until he was in a fighting stance and got ready to brawl. Ireen swiftly had an arrow drawn back in his bow and Ferdell had a potion at hand.
"Bring it on Tin man" The ogre lunged at them and swung at Kengo
Kengo quickly tucked and rolled out of the way and the ogre struck a tree instead, shredding through its trunk like it was paper mache. Kengo drew his sword and once again cleared his mind of everything. He picked his move, Two Swing Sever. He visualized the move, stepped forward then swung, and at the top of his lungs, he yelled
"Two Swing Sever!" His sword's edge glowed like a full moon, radiating with energy.
He ducked under the ogre's fist and his sword met the ogre's side. The ogre let out a wail of pain and clutched his side. Kengo flew around the ogre and went in for the second blow, which when it landed sliced halfway through the ogre's neck, like a heated knife through butter. The orge tried to land another blow but he was becoming weaker by the second until finally, the orge couldn't hang on any longer. The ogre fell limp onto a tree, crushing and twisting it into a crumbled mess of branches and twigs under the weight.
