I was finishing up some last-minute documents in my office.

Lunchtime couldn't come soon enough.

As I clicked "save" on the last file, I stretched in my chair, eyes drifting to the window.

Need some fresh air tired a in yasso now

After closing up my laptop, I stood, ready to head out for lunch. Walking toward the receptionist area, I spotted Dejanae checking out at the counter ,before I knew it, I was following behind her.

Ago buy har lunch

"Hey, Dejanae," I called out. She turned, smiling politely, but I could tell she wasn't expecting much. "You heading out for lunch?"

"Yeah," she replied.

"Well, since we're both heading out, how about we have lunch together? My treat."

For a moment, I thought she'd turn me down-again. But to my surprise, she nodded. "Sure, why not?"

We ended up at Popeye's. Not the fanciest place, but I knew it was something simple we could enjoy without any pressure. Once we ordered our food, we sat in the car, the aroma of fried chicken and fries filling the space.

"So," I started, unwrapping my sandwich, "what do you usually do for lunch?"

She laughed lightly, taking a sip of her drink. "Honestly, I just eat something quick and get back to work"

I smiled, feeling a little more comfortable. "I get that. Working here doesn't exactly give you alot of time to relax, right?"

We continued eating, talking about random things-her favorite music, our thoughts on the latest movies, and little things about work. I noticed how she opened up bit by bit, even though I could tell she was holding back on certain topics. She was interesting, and I found myself wanting to know more.

"Yuh know," I said between bites, "I've been curious 'bout yuh for a while now."

She raised an eyebrow, smirking. "Oh really? What mek yuh seh that?"

I chuckled. "You're different from most people I meet. Yuh quiet, but mi can tell yuh not shy"

She shook her head, laughing softly. "i jus... keep to myself. Nothing too deep."

Our conversation flowed easier after that, both of us exchanging By the time we finished eating, the atmosphere between us felt more relaxed.

As I wiped my hands and leaned back, I couldn't help but feel like I was finally getting somewhere with her. We packed up our trash and prepared to head back to work.
