Now parking my car just outside dejanae's gate. It was quiet here, peaceful even. Spanish Town always had that mix of energy hectic on the outside, but pockets of calm like this existed.
I stepped out of the car and glanced around, taking in the house. It wasn’t anything extravagant, but it had a homely vibe to it. Modest, yet sturdy.
It matched her—simple, strong, and real.
But is this enough for her.
I pushed those thoughts aside as I made my way up to her house, my shoes crunching softly on the gravel. The evening air was cool. I knocked on the door, and to my surprise, it creaked open almost immediately, revealing Dejanae—standing there, her body wrapped in nothing but a towel. I froze for a second, not out of shock
damn
The sight of her, skin glistening slightly from her shower, the towel hugging her curves, had me completely thrown off. My mind started to race, trying to keep my thoughts clean, but the way she was standing there—barely dressed—made that nearly impossible. Her hair was still damp, little droplets of water trickling down her collarbone. I swallowed, trying to focus.
“Hey,” I managed, my voice a bit lower than usual.
She gave me a small smile, stepping back to let me in. As I entered, I couldn't help but glance around her place. It wasn't much but it was ok
I let the door close behind me, my eyes drifting back to her as she stood there, still wrapped in the towel.
“You good?” I asked, stepping closer, my hand brushing lightly against her arm.
She nodded before walking past me, heading into her room . I followed quietly, not saying much, just observing how she moved. I sat down on the edge of her bed, feeling the slight dip in the worn mattress.
"Have you eaten?" I asked, watching her rummage through her clothes basket.
"No, not yet." She shook her head nd I frowned a bit
"What do you want to eat?" I asked
"...."
"Come," I said, getting up from the bed, smoothing down my pants before heading for the door.
She looked at me, her eyebrows raised. "Where?"
"To get you something to eat," I replied, already making my way out of the room.
