Chapter 20

Autumn didn't tell anyone about what Draco told her.

And because she didn't tell anyone what she knew, now she had to play the sad, heartbroken girl she was until a couple hours ago, which was kinda fun.

But she was still worried about Draco, and had no way to let him know she was there for him. She was worried about the said "mission" he had to complete. But everytime she thought about it, she shook off those thoughts.

In the meanwhile, Draco had finished fixing the cabinet for good, and was waiting for the order to let the Death eaters in the castle, that would be any day now. He knew he should be proud of himself. He accomplished his mission, didn't he? But he wasn't. He knew this wasn't right, but how could he get out of it? There was no way. He could just hope that Autumn would still love him after what he was about to do.

Skip to the night of Dumbledore's death

Autumn was having dinner at Gryffindor table, next to Fred, George, Ron and Hermione. Harry was off to some secret mission with Dumbledore. A couple months ago, he apologized for the whole yule ball thing, and she had grown closer to the trio, to the point that they had told her all about the horcruxes and let her in on all their secrets. Sure, they didn't trust her at first, but when she helped Harry get the memory from Slughorn, they began to trust her fully.

She was finally happy. She had friends, her own friends, and after Draco ended his "mission", they could finally be together. Oh, how naive she was...

That was it. Draco had received the order to let the Detaheaters in at 8:00 sharp that morning. He would've let them in, they would have went to provoke some chaos and then meet him at about 8:30 on the top of the astronomy tower, after he killed Dumbledore.

Foolproof plan, right?

Draco tried to ignore the bad feeling in his gut.

"What time are we meeting up at the astronomy tower, Fred?"Autumn asked the ginger twin that was sitting next to her. "Oh shoot! I forgot to tell you I can't tonight, I'm going on a date with Angelina johnson" he answered. "That's fine, I'll go by myself" She answered. Then she stood up and headed to the Slytherin dorms to grab a jumper before heading towards the Astronomy tower, it was getting chilly lately. She grabbed the red one Draco hated and walked over to the tower.

She was sitting on the cold tile floor for about 15 minutes when she heard a loud pop, and Harry and Dumbledore materialized in front of her. "Harry, Dumbledore, wha-" she began asking, when Dumbledore said, in a commanding voice: "Harry, go get Severus. Miss Evermore, please go downstairs and stay still and quiet. Now, the both of you!". Harry immediately ran all the way down the stairs, while Autum did as she was told and only went down one floor. She was now in a position from where she could see the stairs, but could not be seen from the stairs. She could also see above from the space between the tiles.

Maybe two or three minutes had passed, when she heard someone rush up the stairs.

She immediately looked up and saw who it was.
