Kaiju Girls: A New Era
Gojira wakes from her slumber as her internal alarm clock signals it's time to start the day. She stands up to stretch, yawning and splash water from a nearby small pond onto her face. She proceeds to exit her cave when she stops by Blue Reaper. Ever since Leo's anger outburst, the Queen of the Monsters has kept the NEXT inside her cave so that it'll be ready for Leo to use should he decide to return. It's also served as a constant reminder she possibly broke the friendship she was forming with likely the only human who treated her like a normal person. Someone who just needed a friend to confide to besides the other Guardian Monsters. Gojira cried herself to sleep a few times feeling the weight of her decision to test Leo crash down on her throughout the previous days.
'Only having known him for a month and Leo has impacted me this much already. Leo, come back. I'm sorry. I won't do that again! Please forgive me.' Gojira thought with remorse.
She feels tears beginning to form again, making the Gojiran growl in annoyance then wipe her tears away.
Gojira: "I'm the Queen of the Monsters, damn it. This is unbecoming of me." Releasing a sigh, she marches forward to begin her day.
The other Guardian Monsters watch the Queen do a patrol of Monster Island until she senses a rouge Titan causing trouble in New Zealand and heads out to deal with it.
Rodan: "She's taken the aftermath of Leo's outburst seriously and has been down in the dumps, nothing we do cheers her up. It seems the only thing that keeps her mind occupied is maintaining balance in the world. I've done another search for Leo earlier but had no luck finding him. Where could he be? Gojira wants his forgiveness. If it keeps going at this rate, who knows what Gojira will do." In Astral Village, Leo eats his breakfast in silence. He too is reflecting about his shouting at Gojira and by extension the other Guardian Monsters earlier this month, while he had every right to be pissed, Leo could've handled that situation better. When people are angry, they tend to say things they don't mean.
But in the end, it proves they're people and have emotions. Without those, humans would be no different from robots who can't feel emotion.
After eating his meal, Leo stares at the horizon. Soon, Alice stands next to him, Leo looks down at the stub that used to be her sword hand. Alice felt Leo staring at the stump.
Alice: "Don't blame yourself for what happened to me, Leo. I'm one-hundred percent responsible for this injury, I should've listened to your advice and fled with you and the Handler instead of facing Akumu. Had we left after confirming the reports, I would still have my dominant hand. Again, don't blame yourself for my mistake."
Leo: "So, what will you do now? Are you going to somehow continue your career as a Monster Huntress or do something else?"
Alice: "I'll figure it out, kid. No need to worry about me. What's troubling you, Leo? You've been quiet since you woke up." Withholding a sigh, the young Lynx tells Alice what happened earlier this month and the fallout.
Alice: "I see. That explains why you never talked about it to the others or me. I don't blame you for that."
Leo: "I know, Alice. I just...could've handled that better. I wanted Gojira to realize the consequences of her decision, but I should've thought the response out better first. God, I feel awful for saying those things to Gojira and the other Titans. Gojira must be taking the fallout of my yelling hard and likely feels she broke our forming friendship."
