The next day comes for the Naval Support Complex of the NAVSTA Everett.

Leo wakes up and prepares for the day. After showering and getting dressed, he heads for the cafeteria for breakfast. Choosing a meal of his liking, Leo sits at an empty spot at the table to eat.

His meal this time is composed 4 scrambled eggs with some chopped up bacon bits mixed in, two slices of 100% whole wheat bread, an apple and glass of whole milk.

A series of footsteps alerts Leo, looking up he sees May standing on the opposite side of the table.

May: "Is this seat taken?"

Leo: "No, please sit down." The young woman sits down and eats her breakfast, making small talk with Leo and asking how his first battle with the Kaiju yesterday. The young American said it was nerve wrecking and intense. There's no information about that creature in the base's database.

May: "You survived, that's what matters. I spoke to one of the biologists earlier and he said the creature's name is Knifehead."

Leo: "A fitting name."

May: "They're trying to figure out where it came from."

Leo: "Let's hope it's solely for scientific purposes and not for more sinister reasons. You know how some people think they're God and tend to create stuff that often leads to their downfalls. Those with a God complex tend to suffer the worst death. Mankind has always tried being the dominant force on this planet, but Mother Nature has many ways to remind us she's in control. I wonder if the mysterious Lynx Strayed was her wrath sent to punish the League of Ruling Companies for what they did to the Earth in the National Dismantlement War, the Lynx War and the Economic War? And that the destruction of the Cradle System and thus leading to the elimination of half of mankind was a message from her that she can do it again."

May: "Who knows? We can't ask Strayed himself because he vanished after the Economic War. Wherever he is, I'm certain he has to live with the fact he killed half of the human population in exchange for aiding ORCA in clearing mankind's path to space."

Leo: "There'll always be casualties of war." They continue talking until they've eaten their fill and Leo returns to his quarters reading the history of the Titans book he checked out from the base's library yesterday. He finds himself intrigued by the man's findings of the mighty creatures. Joel claimed he encountered one of them. The strongest of them, the Queen of the Monsters, Gojira. He stated it was similar to standing before a true a goddess.

That catches Leo's interest and even a bit confused. Queen of the Monsters? As long as he can remember, Gojira was always a male and nicknamed King of the Monsters. There are no records of there being a female Gojira. Leo recalled asking his father what happened to the King of Monsters. According to his father, Gojira was last seen back in 2005, one year after the King repelled an invasion by aliens named Xilians with the aid of humans. That's what the sealed documents say. It never explained how Gojira vanished.

Leo continues reading the book until he receives a message that a new mission has come in. Placing the small piece of paper acting as the bookmark in the page he's at, Leo sets the book on the nightstand and heads for the briefing room.

The client is Leo's father, and the objective is to investigate a Kaiju reportedly sighted in Seattle. His father wants Leo to confirm this sighting and if possible, eliminate the Kaiju. While there isn't payment, the mission is really important.
