Kaiju Girls: A New Era

The next morning is quiet for the personnel. After what happened yesterday, who could blame them? People were killed and lives changed forever, family relatives were called to inform them what happened. Leo was even informed that May was severely injured during the attack launched Drankran and only by quick action from the hospital staff and being rushed to the hospital that her life was saved. May's parents rushed to the hospital after being called and May's mother stayed the night there. Leo sent a get well soon card and plans to pay May a visit soon.

The sight of faint patches of blood still on the walls and the faint coppery smell is too much for Leo, thus he picks a breakfast burrito comprised of a whole wheat tortilla, eggs, cheese, sausage and sliced cherry tomatoes. He pairs it with a Cosmic apple and bottle of Fairlife chocolate milk, asking the chef to have the burrito wrapped in a foil. After performing said task, Leo thanks him and steps outside to eat looking at the harbor. He's dressed in blue jeans, a white short-sleeve t-shirt and blue Adidas hoodie to protect himself from the cool morning temperatures. He eats his meal in silence, hearing nothing but the chirping of seabirds, doing whatever he can to keep his mind occupied from remembering the events yesterday. Soon, Leo's breakfast is completely eaten and throws the foil, core of the apple and empty bottle of Fairlife chocolate milk into the trashcan.

The 19-year-old stares at the harbor, resting his chin on his open palm while a cool breeze passes through, gently swaying his red hair. A shaky sigh escapes Leo, a lot of brave souls perished. While he rested in the infirmary, he heard the list of deceased people's names grow longer and can barely imagine the grief the person's family are feeling right now.

Leo finished his breakfast and tosses it into the nearest trashcan. After briefly heading to his quarters to brush his teeth, Leo returns to the bench outside, staring out to the horizon. He still hasn't received word about when the funerals are going to happen, but he knows all of victims' family members will be there.

The young American sees black dorsal plates breaking the water's surface out in the bay, Gojira soon rises from the water. Leo watches her approach, kneeling and extending her hand for Leo to climb on. Leo does so, and Gojira raises him up to her level.

Leo: "Hello, good to see you."

Gojira: "Yes, good to see you, too. I see there aren't any armed guards pointing their guns at me this time."

Leo: "Yeah."

Gojira: "What's wrong, Leo? Did something happen?" Leo walks up the length of the Queen of the Monsters' arm and sits on her shoulder.

Leo: "Can we go somewhere else? I'll tell you when we get there." He calls Serene to let her know he's going to hang out with Gojira.

Reaching a suitable place, Gojira sits down placing her arms behind her to hold herself up and Leo, with his face hidden by shadows, keeps himself together before telling the Titan what happened.

Leo: "A robot named Drankran attacked the base yesterday along with a group of robots called Drikrins after unleashing a computer virus that disabled the base's early warning detection system. I fought Drankran and somehow won. I don't remember how exactly but I won. The invaders were eliminated but at the cost of many lives." He releases a shaky breath.

Gojira: "Leo...I..."

Leo: "I almost lost May yesterday as well. It was only through swift action from ambulance and medical staff that rushed her to the hospital that she survived. This is the life of a NEXT pilot; every mission can be your last. To know you're playing Russian roulette with Death as your dance partner. You never know if you'll live to see the light of the next day nor see your next birthday. I'm sorry if I started off the day being all gloomy and saying things. Say, Goji, if you want, I can give you a tour of Everette, Washington today."
