"I cannot believe how incredibly stupid you have been!" Alicent was waiting for them already having been alerted of Aegon and Valyria's flight. Aemond had immediately ran to her knowing how she would feel seeing her daughter put in danger by her most reckless child.

"But mother." Valyria pleaded trying to keep Aegon out of trouble. Aegon was always the one taking the lashing out from their mother, to Valyria it wasn't fair.  But as the oldest Aegon knew it was his job.

"No Valyria. This is between Aegon and I. Please go see yourself ready for supper." Alicent sternly demanded. She had been glaring at Aegon but the second she looked to her daughter she could see the tears spilling from the young girl's eyes.

"Yes mother." Valyria sniffed. She had let go of Aegon's hand and hugged him. "I loved it, thank you Aegon." She whispered before pulling away and walking towards her handmaiden who awaited her.

"How could you put your sister's life in danger like that!" Alicent resumed her scolding as her daughter exited the room.

"I did not put her in danger. I was showing her how to have fun and enjoy her life!" Aegon tried to argue before Alicent slapped him across the face.

"She does enjoy her life. She enjoys walking through the gardens and picking every flower that reminds her of every person she knows. She enjoys eating together at the table as a family. She enjoys when we have to celebrate everyone's name day. She loves the gowns she wears when we have a celebration." Alicent could name all of the things her youngest child loves because she's seen her for her entire life. She's watched her smile as she picked flowers or when she danced with someone in a celebration.

"She also loves dragons. As is her birthright. You cannot keep her from any of them." Aegon sighed. He knew his mother would never listen. "She loved being up in the sky flying on Sunfyre. The smile on her face as she could feel the wind around her. I shall never forget it, for it is my favorite to have seen on her mother."

"You love her?" Alicent gasped in realization.

"I do. And I shall always be there to protect her shall she need it." Aegon stood his ground. He was only a boy of ten but he knew his sister was the one person in the world he would never do anything to hurt.

"She is to be betrothed to Aemond. And you to Haelena. I suggest you come to terms with such." Alicent sighed knowing it would hurt both of her children to see them be with other people since they loved each other but this is what Alicent felt was right. She didn't wish for her children to marry each other at all but Viserys wanted to keep their line pure. With her last words Alicent walked away from her eldest and let him be.

"Aegon?" Valyria had already called for him twice and knocked on the door as hard as she could. So when she pushed open the door and saw him, he wasn't startled.

Aegon had been sitting in his chair staring outside watching the sunset. He wasn't mad at his sister for one second. He was furious at their mother for deciding their future already as they were just children. Aegon had a coin in his hand and was expertly flipping it. His thoughts had kept him occupied and he didn't notice his younger sister entering the room until the door shut behind her.

"I've called your name a few times brother." She walked over to him and sat at his feet looking towards the view. Aegon sighed and watched his sister as she breathed calmly watching the sunset with him.

"I'm sorry, I've been lost in thought sister." He reached out and started playing with her hair.

"I'm sorry I got you into trouble with mother." Valyria let a tear fall out. She had been feeling guilty since it happened. Aegon was taught to be the responsible one and yet he somehow always made the wrong decisions.

"Do not worry dear sister. I should not have taken you on my dragon without permission." He sighed. He never wanted Valyria to feel bad for him but in this moment he knew that's how she felt. She cared about everyone and wanted them to be happy. Especially him.

"But you had my permission!" Valyria quickly turned around to look at her brother. "I had the best day of my life flying with you on Sunfyre. It was surely magical. Would we be able to fly again? Before my dragon is big enough for me, I'd like to ride on Sunfyre with you again Aegon." Her eyes pleaded to him. Who was he to say no to her? He, as her protector and brother, was supposed to make sure she lived the happiest life she could.

"I suppose so my dear sister." He laughed slightly. He pulled her onto the chair with him. The two could see the orange and pink hue of the sky as the sun was setting. "We would have to go when no one would notice the two of us missing of course."

"As you wish." Valyria hummed happily as she leaned her head into her brother's neck. Together the two watched the sun set into darkness as Aegon played with Valyria's hair and Valyria played with her brother's free hand.
