Mina's P.O.V.
"Mina-ssi. Mind staying an extra hour?""Sure, sunbae. What for?"
Sh*t. Was I in trouble? I was late on the counts once for a half count. They're not that severe."Would you go over what we learned today with me? It's the end so it has to be on point."
Really?
"I may be the leader, but I'm not part of the dancers. I avoid anything technical like the plague and these three LOVE to do intense stuff. We make a comeback every two years. The least I can do is get it right.""You have the movements down already."
That's not what he meant.
"It's the energy I don't get. I don't want to bother my band with it, but Taemin said you were pretty approachable and willing to help? Unless you have plans."That's how Taemin described me?
"I'm not as much of an angel as your maknae makes it seem, but he's right that I'm willing to help. We're filming in four days. Gives us plenty of time!"
I pulled out my phone.
"Let me just tell my partner I won't be home when I said I would."Not that he'd see it. He's been locking himself in his studio for the past two weeks. The last time we spent an evening together was at Onewe's concert, three weeks ago.
If you didn't know, award show performances were prepared way in advance and clips too. I was split between SHINee, BIBI, Enhypen and Le Sserafim. Some shows were in a week already!
My mind, well... It was worried about my friend. Jimin had his comeback. He spoke to his boyfriend. He didn't show up for him once. Yoongi kept me updated on what Jimin said that I might not know since I literally worked from dusk till dawn.
"I appreciate it, thank you Mina-ssi."I smiled.
"My pleasure! How about we do it slowly to see the little twists we can do?"
.
.
.
"He's right. You're a great teacher, noona sunbaenim.""Thanks, Jake."
I laid down on the floor. Wasn't I here less than 24 hours ago?
"Thank goodness you're doing an easy stage for the first award show. I'm so booked for MAMA Japan and MAMA Hong Kong with complicated stages.."He laughed, joining me.
"Tired?""I'm running on coffee. What do you think?"
I sighed.
"I miss hanging out.""This is hanging out."
You're cute."THIS."
I motioned at both of us.
"Is trying to cool ourselves down before you go practice with your band without dancers and before I go a few floors higher to work with the girls.""Why do you have a smile on your face if you're so done?"
"I love my job."
I wasn't done yet. I anticipated the hours between similar walls would get longer.
"Custom work is off the table on my website and proofreading my new book will have to wait, but it's worth it. It's a great type of exhaustion."Don't get me wrong, dancing was the most challenging thing. Listening to tips over loud music was almost impossible now, but a mention of it to the choreographers helped. They saved the comments for after.
Half my days were rehearsals, the other half of them were spent painting and shipping orders.
"Are you waiting for your Visa renewal?"I got off the floor.
"Buzz kill~ Don't mention it. I've been doing great right? Hybe will renew it. Namjoon and I's interview had positive responses. Some of his songs started charting again. He got new followers on social media, booked a radio interview and a guest appearance on a TV show to talk about his future album."
I picked up my stuff.
"November and December are the craziest months."
Oh. A notification on my phone. Practice is cancelled? They're stuck in traffic because of an accident blocking two lanes.. They can't push it this evening because half of the dancers are working with another group.
"Guess.. I can go home?"He jumped up.
"Really? You'll take a hot bath and sleep around the clock. Lucky ~"Seeing a figure leaning against the glass by the door.. Not a chance.
"Yep! See you tomorrow!"I closed the door behind him and.. Just one look at that man's face said it all. He even dyed his hair back to black.
"Need a hug?"My friend hugged me so tight.
"Mi.. I'm.. I'm single now.."I caressed his back, trying to pacify him.
"Shh.. it's okay.. He didn't deserve you anyway.. We're here for you.""He cheated on me.."
WHAT.
"..On the trip..""Did I tell you I can make a body disappear without a trace?"
He kept sobbing, but I felt a smile against my neck.
"Don't even have to murder him. I heard that I'm scary when I'm mad."A nod. "..You are."
I cupped his face into my hands.
"Then, the only thing to worry about is to nurse the heartbreak away. I know just the place."
Genius Lab.Yoongi's P.O.V.
I was waiting for that knock on my door for weeks. When I opened it, he looked devastated and barely able to hold himself up. Thankfully, he had a helping hand.
"Can we come in?"He was the only reason she and I started talking regularly.
"Do we have a crime to commit?"Mina helped him sit down.
"I'm set on it, but I don't know what kind? I'm stuck between a grand arson and cutting holes in all of his clothes."Both are decent choices.
"We can decide on that after we forget we were even here."
I took out three shot glasses and a vodka bottle.
"Jiminie's fancy drink of choice."
I served us.
"Take it, you'll feel better than sober."
Alcohol is not the solution to anything, but it was good enough to relieve the nerves and he needed that.
WE needed that.
I was busy getting a few songs ready for the album, the vocals were mostly done, and writing my own.
And, that woman only was home to walk her dog and sleep. Yet, she still packed Namjoon lunch twice a week. Let him starve! Jeez.I served another round.
"Thank you, oppa."I raised my glass.
"You bought the bottle."She drank her shot and flipped the glass over. No more alcohol for her, fair enough.
"Because I knew it would be useful."
Damn right.Jimin had his head between his hands.
"Don't say I told you so, hyung... I know. I'm a f*cking idiot.""Don't apologize for love and hope. It's what fuels us."
I crouched in front of him.
"You were too hot for him anyway."Finally, a laugh. Muffled by sobs, but it was something!
"That's a mean thing to say..""Good! Because I mean it. Another shot?"
He nodded.
"Fill the glass, hyung.""That's the spirit."
