Namjoon's P.O.V.
"An interview? What can you not understand about the definition of a break? We were supposed to do no industry work..""Are you mad at me or just tired?"
She'd been upset, quiet, all day.
"Please let me understand what's going on in that maze of a brain you have.""I'm not mad-"
She looked outside the window.
"I've been doing a lot of thinking.. That's all."
Min took a glance at me.
"I can tell you want to hug me."
I do. Have you seen your face? You have the softest puppy eyes and pout going on. I'm worried about you.
"But, please don't. I don't feel like being touched."Not at all? That was quite rare now.. "Is holding your hand okay?"
A nod. "Alright then.. let's sit. It's cold by the window."She finally spoke when we sat down.
"I'm not angry with you.. I'm a bit frustrated, yes. But you already knew that when you decided to tell me."
That's fair. We left the awards, and rest time should've started then. Instead, I did a live with the guys and looked over some songs with Taehyung all day yesterday. Min ended up going to her art studio with Meg somewhere between noon and 1pm. We're already December 21st..
"I felt so stupid yesterday.""Yoon Mina, stupid? Pretty sure they're antonyms."
It made her smile.
"When did you feel that way? I shouldn't have asked for you to pop in our meeting? I was so happy to show how sweet you are to the guys and I."Her hand gave mine a squeeze.
"I made Kookie panic because I didn't understand."
Ouh.. that's a shaky voice.
"And the fact you showed him how to say thank you had me on the verge of tears the rest of the day."
Trembling voices are sad ones.
"Why am I getting emotional over a small thing, huh?"Because his train of thought wasn't: Urgh, Min didn't get it. Hyung, show me how to make her understand me.
It was: I want Min to know I'm thankful. How do I get it across now? "Because it's not. You've always adjusted to everyone. He adjusted to you. That's why I accepted the interview offer."A frown. "I.. don't follow."
"Of course, we're gonna do a big f*** you to the mean people, but you're going through a big change and I want to be as supportive as possible because I love you and the world hasn't been kind."
"Because I didn't want to make a big deal about it. I'm a dancer. I'm the supporting cast. I can't have things of mine taking away from a group's performance."
Supporting cast? Things? Really? You're human. Life happens in good and bad ways.
"What's the interview for?""Some who watched our dance practice made comparisons to some practices Hwasa, Sanha, Mamamoo and a few other groups had. Obviously, Sanha just went along with it, but the girls had a few people with speech or hearing impairments. It's gonna be about how it is to work with you. How we adapt things."
I sighed.
"It's silly not to invite you directly or invite the people in question, but I think it's from our viewpoint first?"
She seemed skeptical.
"I can cancel. If you're not okay with me talking about this publicly. I thought it'd clear the air, you wouldn't have to be in the spotlight either. I think your perspective is important, but the project is at an early stage. They're probably looking for a few people."Her phone dinged and she took it out of her back pocket.
"Would you look at that.. You were right. They want a meeting over it."
She seemed unsure.
"Namjoon, I don't know.."You, very seriously, said my name. I laid the project out already, but she didn't give me her opinion yet. Her eyes were going from the floor to my face. "Let's process this one step at a time. What do you think?"
She knew what I was doing. She made me write a list to process information for work. I could do that to her too.
"If it can help me reach a decision, I'm up for it."
We can't deny people started to notice. Not that it's a problem! She was doing little jumps and grinning when I told her to wear her glittery earpieces for our filmed dance with hyung and noona, instead of her other set or even her day to day aid she used for dance practice. I'd make sure those little joys stayed.. Just how she induced a smile in me when she'd hand me a lunch to take to work..
