Shidou dangled his head off the back of the couch, catching a glimpse of Sae carefully preparing something in his kitchen. He couldn't look for long, though. The blood was all rushing to his head and it was making his head hurt all the more. He snapped back forward and leant his head on his palms as he rested his elbows on his knees.

"Owww," Shidou whined as he ran his hands through his hair. "My head hurts."

This caught Sae's attention, and as if almost on queue he approached Shidou with with 2 painkillers and a glass of water in the other. Shidou looked up at Sae who was towering over him.

"Take." He just said, handing him the pills. Shidou took them, popped them into his mouth and grabbed the glass from Sae's hand to down them. Then, Sae returned to the kitchen, and Shidou slumped back onto the couch.

He could hear Sae shuffling around behind him, but he didn't bother looking. He was too tired to even speak. He just sat there in silence until Sae joined him on the couch.

"So," Sae said as he pulled out his phone, and Shidou turned his head. "What do you feel like eating?"

Shidou cringed at the thought of eating food, but he knew he needed to eat something soon. He didn't reply for a bit.

"Do you like soup?" Sae eventually asked, scrolling through his phone. "Chicken soup?"

Shidou nodded, and Sae tapped it into his phone.

"Oh by the way," Sae took Shidou's phone out of his pocket and handed it to him. "I found it for you."

Shidou cautiously took it, and was in awe how Sae had actually gone out of his way to do such a thing.

"Did you actually just look for it for me?" He said, his puppy eyes almost seeping through. Sae realised what he had done, and turned his head the other way, avoiding the question. Shidou didn't care, though. He wondered why Sae was here, helping him out of all people. He used to barely allow Shidou within a 5 ft radius of him, yet now he is willingly sitting on his couch, buying him food AND taking care of him? Sae didn't even care if HE lived or died, so the fact he was caring to someone else... something must have been off

He still found himself moving slightly closer to Sae on the couch, though.

"I ordered your food, it should be on the w-"

"Why are you doing this for me?" He blurted out, not really thinking. Sae looked up from his phone. He gave him a confused look, so Shidou elaborated.

"You don't like being around me, so why are you doing this?"

Sae didn't say anything for a bit. By the look on Sae's face, he didn't even know himself. Sae pondered for a moment, before sighing and spoke.

"I guess... I don't know. Maybe I care about you, or something." He looked away, a visible blush covering his cheeks. But before Shidou could get a word in, Sae continued.

"But don't look so into it. You're my friend, and I'd do it for any other one of my friends if they needed."

Ouch.

As if he wasn't already in a lot of pain, he felt like someone just shoved a knife into his heart.

Sae lied. He would never, over his dead body, EVER do this for any one of his friends. Sae knew that, yet still willingly came. Sae didn't know why he lied, but he didn't expect Shidou to believe him anyway. Shidou knew him enough by now to know his character.

But Shidou believed him.

Trying to hide the disappointment in his face, he turned away and stared at the TV, seeing his reflection in the black screen.
