I'll be there for you
It's a crazy world,
I'll be there for you

For I am falling, falling, falling
Falling for you

It's a crazy world
Let me be your girl

I took note of the venue and marvelled at its high ceilings, and the murals of the ascension of Jesus on the wall. It was an interesting place for a gig, but the acoustics in the chapel was a spot on as the melodic voice of the singer crooned on, making me feel an unfamiliar ache in my chest. I was glad I came, and was gladder that this was a pretty tame one where people were here for the music, and not dancing around in a drunken frenzy. As I turned to Veronica and smiled, my gaze landed on a familiar brunette with wavy hair dressed in full denim and a pair of Doc Martens boots. She was fully absorbed in the artiste, and was gently swaying to the music. When I realised that she had not noticed me, not that it was easy to, in a darkened room full of people, I let out a silent sigh, and tore my eyes away from her.

Irene heard me and glanced at me quizzically with a raised eyebrow. I shook my head and pretended to stifle a yawn as I turn my attention back to the singer, willing myself not to stare at the brunette who managed to unsettle me.

As the gig came to a close, I tried to drag my housemates out of the venue but with no avail as Irene was a huge fan and wanted an autograph. Trying not to let my annoyance show, I hung around near the exit and hoped that I would not cross paths with...

"Hey there, didn't realise you were a fan as well." A familiar low voice from behind startled me. I turned and found myself face to face with George and could not stop and stare at how beautiful she looked at that moment. Taking in her denim jacket and jeans, which showed hid her athletic figure, I looked into her eyes and regretted it instantly as I felt drawn into her dark brown eyes.

"Umm, not really, I was invited by my housemate who had extra tickets," I mumbled softly, hoping I did not sound unfriendly. "But she was a great! I loved her voice." I quickly added, which drew a smile from her. "Are you here with friends too?" I asked, somehow hoping to see who she hung out with outside of work. I realised I knew nothing about her apart from how she loves cycling and was great at her job.

"Nope, just here alone." She answered pensively, and as quickly as the sadness that flashed across the eyes came, it left. "I'd better get going, see you at work?" She asked, as she made her way to leave.

"Sure, see you at work!" I answered, trying to keep myself from touching her arms.

"I'm in loooooooove!" Irene screeched into my ears as I tore my eyes away from the disappearing figure. She waved the poster bearing the autograph of the artiste excitedly at me as she continued gushing about her encounter moments earlier.

I forced a smile and linked our arms together, heading towards the exit. Before I could help myself, the lyrics of the last song flooded my mind as I realised I had wanted to learn more about George and what her story was; I think I was falling for her.
