Chapter 30

PHUWIN excitedly shared the story of how he met Pond's brothers to his family. His encounter with the heirs of Lertratkosum was the best. He saw that there are still people who are humble despite of the achievements, money and power they have.

"So did you meet Metawin Lertratkosum Phu?" Dunk asked in wide eyes

Phuwin nodded in happiness. His heart can still recall the smooth encounter he had with Pond's oldest brother.

"Yeah and he's so handsome in person. All the magazine photos about him didn't do him any justice" Dunk and him giggled as they talked about Metawin's handsomeness

"Ohm is very charismatic too while Mick looks like a baby"

Mae just smiles listening to his sons, They're at the dining table. With Phuwin and Dunk being noisy the other twin is just playing with his food.

"You don't like the food Gem? Do you want me to cook other foods?" Mae asked him

Gemini just lazily shook his head, the three of them exchanged looks. They're used for Gem being quiet but not like this. He is clearly problematic.

"Are you not feeling well?" His mother touches his neck to check his temperature

"I'm fine Mom. I'll just need some rest" he said before kissing his mother's cheek and tapping his brother's shoulder before walking out from the kitchen

Throughout the dinner, Mae is worried for his sons. Gemini is not like his other sons that is open about his problems.

"Don't worry about him Mom, Gemini will ask our help if he needs it. He'll be okay!" Dunk assures her

After dinner, Phuwin is inside his room talking with his boyfriend while reading books. While he's talking with Pond he received a message from Fourth that made his heart skip.

Fotfot:
           Call me please, I need you right now !_!

The emoticons that Fourth uses made him worried. He told Pond that he needed to drop the call because Fourth needs him. Good thing his boyfriend is very understanding. He immediately called Fourth and his heart twisted when he was answered by a sob.

"Fourth what's wrong? Hmm? Do you want me to go to your house?" Instead of answering his question, his friend just continued crying.

It alarmed him and he quickly grabbed his jacket and wallet. He went to the living room where his Mom is watching TV. She allowed him to go there but she drove him to Fourth's house. When he reached the house, It was quiet and dark. Looks like no one is inside. He pressed the doorbell many times and called Fourth to tell he's outside.

Fourth came out from the house, in his SpongeBob pajamas and swollen eyes. He opened the gate and immediately ran to hug him. Even without words, Phuwin knew that it was the best decision to come here. His friend really needed him this time. Fourth might be a ray of sunshine but he's soft and vulnerable as cinnamon.

He had many battles inside him.

They went inside the house with Fourth still hugging him. Inside Fourth's room, Phuwin saw the mess in his bed. It was pictures, notebooks--diaries and other things.

All of it was cut into pieces. What surprised him more is the person in those pictures.

It was his twin, Gemini.

He faced Fourth who is now sitting on the sofa hugging his knees.

"What's the problem Fourth. Please tell me so I can do what I can to help. I don't want to see you like this, it's killing me" Phuwin said in a low voice

Fourth sobs and hiccups mix in the air. His tears continually stream on his face.

"I--t's Gemini" he said in between his sobs

"Why? What's wrong with Gem?" Phuwin wiped some of Fourth's tears.

The dim light of the room seems depressing for Phuwin but he can't force Fourth to open the lights. Only the lamshade that exudes golden light is the one lighting the room.

"H-e rejected me" his answer that made Phuwin speechless

He knew a hundred percent that his best friend is very in-love with Gemini but he didn't expect that it'll come to this point. He thought Fourth won't have the guts to confess because Gemini is distant to him.

Phu asked again "Did you confess?"

Fourth nodded his head before hiding it again in his knees. His sobs echoed on the air, his voice stuttered as he tells what happened. After an hour of crying, Fourth finally fell asleep. Phuwin is wondering why Fourth is alone in the house. Where are his fathers? Or the maids?

He sighed as he looked at his friend's face sleeping, even in his closed eyes he looked disturbed. While he's gently caressing Fourth's hair to put him in a good sleep, he received a call from Gemini. Phuwin gritted his teeth in anger. He doesn't have rights to meddle about what happened because it was their personal life but he can't help reacting that way because his best friend is hurting. He loves Fourth like a true brother, he cares and cherishes him. So it's normal for him to be angry but on the other side he must understand Gemini too.

I thought  that jerk liked Fourth too?

"Hello!" he said flatly

The other line was silent for a few seconds before talking.

"Are you with Fourth?" Gem asked in a deep husky voice

Phuwin rolled his eyes and clacked his tongue.

"Yes, why?" he answered

"How is he?" His twin asked again

This time Phuwin's eyes might be flipped by rolling it too much. He's annoyed with Gemini for being insensitive. If he didn't like Fourth then he shouldn't give the boy false hope.

"Honestly, he's not okay but I'm here, so he'll be fine. You know what, Gem? If you don't like him then just continue acting like you can't stand him and that you don't really want him around, instead of being sweet now and changing tomorrow. Don't be hot and cold. Don't give him any false hope. Please don't hurt my best friend, he's the only one I've got."  Phu almost pleading in his tone

The other line went silent but Phuwin could hear his twin's heavy breath.

"I'll understand that if you really can't reciprocate his feelings but please just be gentle in your words to him. Don't hurt him more, it'll be better if you just ignore him" he continues

Gemini sighed "I'll just ignore him, so he won't assume anything about my actions to him" with that Gemini ended the call.

True to his words, Gemini really went back to his treatment to Fourth like before. He ignored the boy and not even glancing at him. Fourth was hurt again but he tried his best to understand and accept Gemini's decision. It was hard for Phuwin to balance without siding anyone. He just wants his brother to settle what his true feelings are and to protect his best friend for more pain.

"Good job class, enjoy your new year vacation"  the whole art studio filled with shouts and hooray when the teacher ended their last class for this year.

The end of December is approaching and they'll have one week to welcome it. Phuwin is excited for his new year because it'll be his first new year with Pond and he knew that it'll be special for Pond too because his mother will be present in their life this new year.

This year might be ended but he won't forget this year because it's still the best year for him despite of the bad events had happened.

Especially, it is the year that the heaven gave him his dream boy. Give him his love, Pond.

*I'll skip Christmas because only some people in Thailand celebrate it. I’m not sure about Pond and Phuwin's religion, so I didn’t include it.*
