Chapter 21

WITH A HEAVY heart, Pond finally agreed. He gave his grandparents a soft kiss on the forehead, promising to visit again. As he left the hospital, he felt a mix of relief and guilt. He wanted to be there for his family but he also knew he had to prioritize his education.

When Pond arrived home, in their house not in his condo. He was greeted by the familiar scent of his favorite meals cooking in the kitchen. Muan, their nanny is cooking with Mick helping her around----or more like eating   the foods. The house feels like home again, now that his mother and that bastard step-father he had are not here.

The old lady looked at him with a warm smile. "Our Pond, how are you?"

Mick also ran towards him with his bowl of carbonara.

"I just got back from the hospital. Ohm made me come home to focus on my studies" Pond replied, running a hand through his hair.

Muan walked over to hug him "That’s probably for the best. You need to take care of yourself too. How are your grandparents doing?"

"They’re stable nanny but they need to be monitor" Pond said

He left the kitchen after eating and took a shower before gathering the books he needed, he will study in Phuwin's house. He really missed his boyfriend, he badly need to see his face and feel his presence again. After minutes of driving, Pond reached Phuwin's house. The boy immediately dragged him to his room and told him to sleep because of his boasting eyebags. To avoid the argument, Pond fell asleep for hours and woke up at night.

Mae prepared delicious food for him, they talked about the situation that they all had gone through this past days. Pond also saw that Gemini is fine, just bruises and small wounds. In Phuwin's room, Pond spent hours to review all the nites that Winny gave him, even though he was still attending the previous classes but he can't focus.

"This is just a challenge Pond, a trials that will shape you. If you face this you’re giving yourself a chance to be stronger" that was Phuwin's  words that he is holding right now

With Phuwin by his side, Pond felt a little lighter. He knew he had to find a balance between his responsibilities at school and his love for his family. They settled into a study routine, Phuwin helping him review his notes and preparing for his upcoming exams.

As the days passed, Pond adjusted in the situation. His heart is hoping for this trial to end and let his grandparent's life go back to normal again. He knew they were recovering, and he was determined to give them the diploma that they wanted from him.

With his family’s support and Phuwin’s encouragement. Pond learned to navigate the challenges ahead, focusing on his future while keeping his family safe. The exam was done and his results were great, Pond hugged Phuwin in too much happiness as he can't believe he did it.

"I told you right, that you can do it" Phu said in a smile

Pond nodded before claiming his boyfriend's lips. His kisses became aggressive like he is deprived of it. Pond literally ate Phuwin's mouth while sucking his tongue. Missing his boyfriend makes Pond act like they didn't see each other for a thousand years. Phuwin smiled at Pond's lips before kissing his boyfriend back with the same ferocity.

Pond released from the kiss became he can feel his body reacting from it. It's not yet the right time to do that with Phuwin, his baby needs more time.

A MONTH after the accident, Pond’s grandparents had made a remarkable recovery and were now staying in Pond’s old house in Bangkok. So it can be easy for the boys to take care of their grandparents without travelling back and forth to the town. They made sure their grandparents had everything they needed, from meals to company, as they settled back into a sense of normalcy.

However, the shadow of the recent events still loomed over them. The police investigation had progressed, revealing troubling information. The man who had hit their grandparents had confessed to being paid by someone to cause the accident, but refused to disclose who had hired him. This left the family feeling uneasy, as they couldn’t shake the feeling that there was more to this story. Knowing that there is someone out there who wanted to hurt their family made them alert.

One evening, as they gathered around the dining table for dinner, the conversation turned to the investigation.

"I can’t believe someone would do this to Grandma and Grandpa" Mick said, shaking his head. "It’s sickening."

"Yeah, especially since the guy won’t say who paid him" Metawin added, his brow furrowed in thought. "It’s like he’s protecting someone. It could be our enemy from the company or someone who had personal hatred towards grandma and grandpa"

Pond’s heart raced as a chilling thought crossed his mind. "What if it’s Mom? I heard she escaped from the mental hospital, we got so busy that we didn't even know when she was transferred to that facility" he said in a sentence, glancing at Ohm.

Ohm’s face tightened. "I’ve been thinking the same thing. It would explain a lot" he replied. "Her unstable state of mind could make her capable of something like this."

Mick leaned back in his chair, processing the information. "But why would she want to hurt Grandma and Grandpa? They’ve always cared for her. They didn't even disagree when she married another man after Dad died"

"Maybe she sees them as a threat or she blames them for something" Metawin suggested. "If someone had a great desire for something it could drive them to do drastic things"

Pond felt a mix of anger and fear. He had wanted to believe that their mother could change, that she could be a part of their lives again after all she's still their mother but maybe he's hoping for an impossible.

"We need to be careful" he said, determination rising within him. "If she’s out there, we can’t let her near Grandma and Grandpa"

"I’ll set up security cameras around the house" Ohm said, his expression is serious. "We need to be vigilant."

The four boys didn't know that their attention had just gotten diverted. And that was the original plan.
