Sorry for the later upload, I've been in and out of brain rotting over OC things all day so every time I go to write my brain just sweeps me off to another thought process and zoning out over it XD

I stared at the charm in my hand as I walked. Everything... Happened too fast for my liking. One moment I'm cutting through the darkness like butter and the next I hear Sabre's screaming. I only caught sight of his body disappearing under the swarm of darkness before I heard the Enchanter scream something in the enchanting language. After that, I fought Nightmare until he ran off, cursing and saying he'd be back for me.
Sadly, I wasn't quick enough. The Enchanter, in his last moments of sanity, took his gem from his shawl and gave it to me before telling me to follow it, that it'll bring me to someone who can help me find Sabre and perhaps someone who can eventually help him. Yet after he spoke, he screamed at me to leave, the pain just so evident in his voice.
So now here I was, purple-gemed charm in hand, and trying to follow where it was urging me to go towards. The gem gleamed in the fading sunlight as I continue to walk. I let out a sigh into the air and a frustrated groan.
How many people was I gonna loose. First Red, now Sabre?? When was it gonna end?! I grit my teeth and ball my fist around the charm's chain as I let my arm drop to my side. Why. Why. WHAT WAS I DOING WRONG?!
Before I think about what I'm doing, I throw the charm into the bushes, the golden chain disappearing into the darkness of the bush. No- UGH! Darn it! I shake my head and rush over to where I had thrown the charm, frantically searching through the leaves and branches that stabbed at my hands a bit. "Ow!" I pull my hand back as I see a line of red start to run down my palm. Hissing, I put my mouth to the wound to stop the flow for a moment. Great. Just- LOVELY. Once the stabbing pain dulls enough, I wave my hand a bit, then continue to search through the bush. Yet to no avail. I couldn't see any gleam of purple or gold within the bush's entangled branches. A groan escapes me as I grit my teeth. Ugh! Why was I such an idiot!
Huffing and just tired and done, I turn around to sit on the ground, placing my elbows on my knees as I hold my head in my hands. Great. Now what. I've gone and thrown away the one thing that could have helped me cure the Enchanter and found Sabre! Why was I such an idiot?! For sake of the realm, I could have just avoided all of this pain by just making that potion Leader wanted me to and let him go off and kill Nightmare!
... Red wouldn't have wanted me to do that.
Ugh, was I really considering going against what I promised Red I wouldn't do?! How stupid have I gotten?! Realm- Even Sabre wasn't as stupid as I was right now and he was pretty stupid!
A groan escapes me as I let my shoulders sag, then stare off into the distance in front of me through all of the trees that filled this forest. Sunlight that was able to make it through the canopy above, illuminated the trunks and branches in a orange-ish red glow.
"... I think you were looking for this?" The voice startles me as the charm is suddenly dangled in front of my face. I whip around to see a tall figure just behind me in the bush, cloaked in dark purples and magentas, with his eyes having a glowing yellow underneath them that fell down his cheeks. The veil he wore over his eyes only allowed me to make out the almost serpentine pupils he had. Yet peeking out through his shorter hair was two long, ebony horns that twisted around and up.
What in the realms was this being?!
"Oh how interesting- You and I are both odd Steves. But If you don't mind me asking, however, how did you get the Enchanter's gem? I know he doesn't ever take this thing off." The figure chuckles, still holding out the charm for me to take. It takes all of my willpower to not say something sarcastic as I take the charm back. "He gave it to me in order to find somebody who could help me. Why do you ask, do you know him?"
Standing up, I turn to look the steve in the face, noticing he towered above me. Even I could tell he wasn't normal and I had a very weird standard of normal. Well... if my face had anything to say about my standard of, 'Normal'.
"Well, yes. I do. He's... well, we are friends but it's a bit complicated. He's the reason I am cursed to look like this. But I don't blame him at all for the situation. It wasn't his intent." The tall figure simply rests his hand on his hip as he lets his other hand rest at his side. Wait wait wait- HE KNOWS HIM?! "So- Sorry, trying to figure out things. Maybe you can tell me where this lil charm leads? I really need to find my- Friend- and get help for the Enchanter."
"He's in trouble?" A look of concern flicks through this stranger's face and he glances at my hand that held the charm. "Well I can answer one of your questions. I made that charm myself to allow a connection between the Enchanter and I. It was mainly so he and I could find each other. But if he gave you that then... Sorry. What trouble is he in?" The rapid jumping around questions of this figure set me off a bit, but I answer them quickly. "Darkness got to him. My friend and I were just going to pay a visit when we found him chained and about to be infected. I... I wasn't quick enough to prevent him from being infected and the steve who caused it, got away."
I pause a moment though to ask a question. "You made this, though?"
"Yes. Technically any Indigo can make those charms. They are very simple forms of connection between us."
WAIT- WHAT?!
"You're an indigo?!" My yell of shock bounces off of the trees and he winces, but nods. "Yes... Like I mentioned before, the Enchanter- Accidentally made me this way."
