4. Saving The Earth

Sheshnag was doing his penance in the Himalayas... He started his penance in Gandhamadana parwat, after that he went to many places like, Badrikashrama, Pushkara, Gokarna, and lastly in the Himalayas... In these years many daityas tried to break his penance, but due to his determination and devotion towards Narayana, all of them were defeated... He was standing in one foot and taking Narayan's name...

Sheshnag: OM NAMO NARAYANA...

Brahma Dev appears in front of him... He said...

Brahma Dev: Sheshnag, open your eyes, your penance is over now...

But Anant Shesha didn't open his eyes... Brahma Dev said...

Brahma Dev: I know you are waiting for your Prabhu, but he has sent me to you... He has work for you... Please open your eyes so that I can explain it to you...

After hearing this Sheshnag opened his eyes... He bowed down in front of Brahma Dev and said...

Sheshnag: pranam Brahma Dev, it's my pleasure to meet you... You said that my Prabhu gives me work... Please tell me what I have to do...

Brahma Dev gave his blessings to him and said...

Brahma Dev: Sheshnag, the earth is in danger, Prabhu Narayan needs your help...

Sheshnag: no Brahma Dev, my Prabhu didn't need anyone's help... He gives his devotees an opportunity to serve him so that they can get salvation... He is soft hearted, he can't see his devotees in pain... Otherwise, is there any work in these three worlds that cannot be accomplished by his wish???... Tell me how I can serve my Prabhu???...

Brahma Dev was satisfied with his answer... He said...

Brahma Dev: Sheshnag, the daityas has filled the ocean with poison, poison which is given to the daitya mata Diti by your mother Nagmata Kadru... Due to which the Earth is losing its balance... To stabilize Earth, you need to hold her in your hoods...

Sheshnag was angry after hearing this, his mother will never come back to the path of Dharma... She has become power hungry... Sheshnag said...

Sheshnag: I am sorry on her behalf Brahma Dev because of her, mother Earth and Prabhu both are suffering...

Brahma Dev: why are you saying sorry Sheshnag... It was not your fault...

Sheshnag: Just as parents have to bear the consequences of their children's deeds, similarly, children also have to suffer the consequences of their parents' deeds... But I will try to rectify her deeds... I am ready to hold the Earth in my hoods and stabilize it... But I have a request...

Brahma Dev: tell me Sheshnag, how can I help???...

Sheshnag: after doing Prabhu's work, I will resume my penance so that I can get his Darshan...

Brahma Dev: you don't have to do that Sheshnag... As I have said before, your penance is over... After stabilizing Earth, you will not only get Prabhu's Darshan, but you will live in Vaikuntha with him...

Sheshnag bowed down in front of him and said...

Sheshnag: thank you Brahma Dev... I am grateful to you...

Brahma Dev nodded his head... Suddenly Sheshnag realised something he said...

Sheshnag: Brahma Dev, you told me that the poison of all the Nagas has filled in Anant Sagar... If I stabilize Bhumi Devi, then who is going to remove that poison???...
